The Colorado Rockies have optioned first baseman Michael Toglia to Triple-A Albuquerque. In a corresponding move, the Rockies have recalled infielder Keston Hiura from Triple-A. Toglia has had a disappointing start to the campaign. Through his first 54 contests, Toglia posted a low .194/.266/.349 slash line with nine doubles, one triple, and six home runs. He held a high 39.1% strikeout rate, which placed him in the first percentile among qualified hitters. He also generated a low .276 xwOBA, .205 xBA, and a .358 xSLG, which place him in the seventh, second, and 17th percentiles. Hiura has spent the entire campaign in the minor leagues. Through 46 games with Triple-A Albuquerque, Hiura held a .243/.360/.467 line with nine home runs. Fantasy managers in NL-only leagues should consider adding Hiura as a depth option as he could carve out a starting role in Colorado.

The Colorado Rockies agreed to a minor-league deal with free-agent infielder Keston Hiura on Wednesday that includes an invite to major-league spring training, according to a source. Along with Hiura, the Rockies also signed free-agent outfielder Nick Martini to a minor-league deal. After not appearing the big leagues since 2022 with the Milwaukee Brewers, Hiura resurfaced in 2024 with the Los Angeles Angels late in the year and went 4-for-27 (.148) with no homers and one RBI while striking out 10 times in 10 games played. The landing spot in Colorado is a nice one for the 28-year-old right-handed power bat, but Hiura will face long odds to carve out regular playing time with the Rockies if he returns to the majors in 2025. He resurfaced in Anaheim last year after posting a strong .943 OPS with 26 home runs at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Los Angeles Angels infielder Keston Hiura has continued to play very well at Triple-A and could be nearing a return to the major leagues. Since August 1, the former first-round selection holds a strong .275/.383/.575 with four home runs and a 6:17 BB:K ratio. Across his past five games, he has gone deep twice with a .632 SLG. Overall, Hiura has held a .347 AVG through 32 games at Triple-A Salt Lake. His play has yet to translate to the major leagues as he holds a career .235/.313/.445 line in the big leagues. However, if Hiura continues to showcase his raw power, he could be worth a flier in AL-only formats down the stretch run if he earns a promotion.
