Tyler Glasnow Hopeful For Minimal Injured-List Stint

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (elbow) is hopeful to avoid an extended stint on the 15-day injured list. Glasnow hit the injured list on Friday with right elbow tendinitis. Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reported that Glasnow lobbied to start this weekend, but manager Dave Roberts would have been on "pins and needles" watching it. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to any other updates regarding Glasnow, as he could return as soon as his 15-day stint ends. Before the injury, the 30-year-old held a solid 3.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and a 45:168 BB:K ratio through 134 innings of work. He sports an excellent 2.63 xERA and a .197 xBA, which suggests he should enjoy a nice conclusion to the campaign. Glasnow should remain stashed on all rosters and should be placed immediately into your starting lineup when he returns.

Fernando Tatis Jr. Taking Next Steps In Recovery, Remains Without Timetable

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (thigh, quadriceps) has begun going through baseball activities, including long toss, but remains without a timetable. Manager Mike Shildt expressed that the 25-year-old is "taking those next steps" but did not suggest any potential return window. However, Shildt did note that when he ramps up, he will get ready quickly. Tatis hit the 10-day injured list last June and was eventually shifted to the 60-day IL due to a femoral stress reaction. Before the injury, the budding star was enjoying a nice season as he boasted a .279/.354/.468 line with 14 home runs and eight stolen bases. He posted an elite 13.9% barrel rate and 53.8% hard-hit rate. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Tatis on their injured reserve, as he could push your team over the edge if he returns sometime next month.

Zack Littell Placed On The 15-Day Injured List

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Zack Littell (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list with right-shoulder fatigue. In a corresponding move, the Rays recalled southpaw Tyler Alexander from Triple-A Durham. Littell was enjoying a nice hot stretch before the injury as he held a strong 1.19 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and a 5:16 BB:K ratio across his previous three outings (22 2/3 innings). Overall, through the season, the 28-year-old has posted a 3.89 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and a 26:116 BB:K ratio. Alexander has carried a hefty 5.20 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP through 71 frames this season. Fantasy managers should expect Alexander to contend for the open spot in the rotation with Drew Rasmussen, who recently returned from the 60-day IL, while Littell remains sidelined.

Zac Gallen Cleared To Start On Saturday

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen (cramps) has been cleared to start on Saturday. The right-hander exited his previous start early due to general cramping, but this does not seem to be a major concern. Gallen logged just four 1/3 innings and allowed one earned run while striking out three. While the 29-year-old has had some struggles this summer, he currently sits with a 3.69 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and a 35:99 BB:K ratio across 105 innings of work. Under the hood, Gallen boasts an above-average 6.2% barrel rate and 46.9% ground-ball rate. This afternoon, he will face the Tampa Bay Rays in a favorable matchup as they strike out at a 24.2% K rate against right-handed pitchers. Gallen should be in all fantasy lineups going forward and a popular play in DFS today.

Spencer Horwitz, Joey Loperfido Both Sitting On Saturday

Toronto Blue Jays infielder Spencer Horwitz and outfielder Joey Loperfido will take a seat on Saturday as the Blue Jays will face left-handed pitcher Justin Steele. Horwitz has started every game this month, so he will be getting a deserved day off, while Loperfido will once again take a seat against a left-handed pitcher, as he has made only four starts against them this season. As a result, George Springer will shift to DH to cover for Horwitz, while Davis Schneider will cover left field for Loperfido. Horwitz has held a modest .229 AVG this month, while Loperfido holds a disappointing .132 AVG. Horwitz could return to the lineup on Sunday, but fantasy managers should expect Loperfido to take a seat again as the Cubs are scheduled to send out lefty Shota Imanaga in the series finale. Both Springer and Schneider are best to leave off your DFS lineup this afternoon as Steele holds a solid 3.16 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP through the summer and allowed just one run in his previous start.
