Jake Irvin Strikes Out 10 Batters

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jake Irvin made easy work of the Colorado Rockies during Sunday's outing. Irvin allowed one run on three hits over six innings in a no-decision. The 27-year-old did everything he could even striking out 10 batters during this outing. His only mistake was allowing a solo home run to Michael Toglia in the second inning. Irvin continues to be a bright spot for the Nats this season. He should be a solid streaming option against the Tampa Bay Rays during his next outing.

Kyle Freeland Looks Sharp In Return

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland made his return to the mound after not pitching since mid-April. The left-hander showed no signs of rust as he cruised through the Washington Nationals hitters on Sunday. Freeland threw six shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out four batters in the no-decision. The veteran southpaw hasn't always been a viable option but should carry solid streaming appeal against the Chicago White Sox during his next start.

Yainer Diaz Knocks in Three Runs

Houston Astros catcher Yainer Diaz had a solid day at the plate during Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Diaz went 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored during Sunday's win. All of his hits were singles, but fantasy managers will take a three-RBI game any day. This season Diaz is slashing .264/.292/.412 with seven home runs and 37 RBI. It's certainly not elite numbers, but he's contributing enough at the catcher spot for fantasy purposes.

Kodai Senga Faces Live Hitters

New York Mets starting pitcher Kodai Senga (shoulder) was able to throw a successful 22-pitch live bullpen session on Sunday. This is the first time that Senga has been able to face hitters since early May. The expectation is that Senga will do this again before heading out on a rehab assignment. It's a step in the right direction, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect to get Senga back anytime soon. The hope is that Senga can rejoin the rotation following the All-Star break.

Framber Valdez Posts Quality Outing

Houston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez was solid on the mound during Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. The southpaw allowed one run on six hits over seven innings of work in the win. Valdez struck out seven batters while walking two hitters on the day. This wasn't an easy task for Valdez, but he turned out another strong outing. He has posted back-to-back quality outings after getting hit around by the Giants earlier this month. He'll take a 3.68 ERA into this next start against the New York Mets.
