2024 Team Stats

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Rob Zastryzny is set to serve as the team's opener on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park versus the hosting Philadelphia Phillies, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Curt Hogg. It's expected that right-hander Chad Patrick will serve as the bulk reliever once Zastryzny comes out of the game after one or two frames. In his lone opening assignment of the year so far, the 33-year-old southpaw threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts on May 19 against the Baltimore Orioles. Zastryzny will get a much tougher matchup this time around against the first-place Phillies and isn't a realistic streaming option for likely just one inning of work. In five total appearances this year in his second year in Milwaukee, he has thrown five scoreless innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich continued his hot stretch of play against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. Yelich smacked a three-run home run off Tanner Banks in the fifth inning. The left-handed slugger struck again as he added a solo shot Carlos Hernandez in the final frame. It was his 12th career multi-homer game as Yelich went 3-for-5 with two homers, four RBI, and he extended his hitting streak to eight games. The veteran outfielder has been unstoppable at the plate over the last week. He has three homers and eight RBI over his last three games. Yelich needs to be started in all fantasy formats right now while he's on fire at the plate.

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher DL Hall will serve as the opener for Friday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. A lat strain had sidelined Hall through this past Monday when he was activated from the injured list and tossed 2.1 innings out of the bullpen. The right-hander bounced between opening and filling a traditional bullpen role last year. He showed great length as an opener, averaging 4.1 innings per start in 2024. In total, through 13 games (43 innings) last year, he maintained a 4.48 xFIP, a 45.5 percent ground ball rate, 9.21 K/9, 4.40 BB/9, and 1.26 HR/9.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (ankle/shoulder) had his longest rehab outing yet on Wednesday, striking out six over seven innings for the High-A Timber Rattlers. He allowed one unearned run on five hits and no walks. He threw 74 pitches in the outing, which means he is set to rejoin Milwaukee's rotation in early June. That could happen as early as early next week, or a little later if they decide to give him one more rehab start on Tuesday. It's hard to dig too much into his performance considering the level of talent he was up against, but he did also pitch four scoreless innings in his previous start in Triple-A.

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins is taking the day off for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Boston Red Sox. Jake Bauers will man first base and bat eighth against Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello. Hoskins has hit the ball well in 2025, but he's struggled a bit of late, going 3-for-20 with two RBI, a run, three walks and 10 strikeouts in his last six games. It's a good time for the 32-year-old veteran to take a day off after starting in each of the team's last 32 games. Overall, he's hitting .282 (48-for-170) with seven long balls, 29 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases for the Brew Crew. Bauers won't have a ton of DFS upside near the bottom of Milwaukee's lineup against Bello, who he has hit .125 against in just eight career at-bats. Bauers has hit a modest .247/.341/.416 on the season with a .756 OPS.
