Willy Adames Crushes Two-Run Home Run In Win Over Arizona

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double, a walk, and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 10-6 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 29-year-old launched his fifth home run of the season in the fifth inning and added a double in the eighth. The strong showing raised his OPS to .671, as Adames is now slashing .225/.304/.367 across 43 games this season. He will look to stay hot in an afternoon matchup against Eduardo Rodriguez and the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Logan Henderson To Be Recalled, Will Start Wednesday Against Guardians

Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Logan Henderson is expected to be recalledfrom Triple-A Nashville to be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. The former fourth-round draft pick has pitched well in the minors this season, and after giving up five earned runs in his first start this season, the righty has posted a 1.04 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and a fantastic 25.2 percent K-BB% in the five appearances since (26 IP). The 23-year-old also alreadymade one start for the Brewers earlier this season, and it was an impressive one, yielding just one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out nine batters over six innings of work againstthe Athletics. This makes him an intriguing DFS option, and he could be a speculative add in deeper season-long leagues in hopes he can stick in the rotation this time around.

Brandon Woodruff Won't Make Season Debut This Weekend

MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (ankle, shoulder) will not come off the 15-day injured list to make his 2025 season debut this weekend against the Minnesota Twins and will instead get treatment for his ankle tendinitis for the next week and make another minor-league rehab start. The Brewers aren't going to take any chances with a pitcher that missed all of 2024 due to right-shoulder surgery that he had in September of 2023. Woodruff only went 2 1/3 innings in his sixth minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Sunday and will be given one more rehab start before Milwaukee re-evaluates the 32-year-old veteran's ankle. Woodruff operated as a fantasy ace before his shoulder surgery in 2023, but fantasy managers will want to temper expectations for him upon his return as he's eased back into the big-league rotation.

Willy Adames Drops To Six-Hole On Monday

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames has been dropped to the sixth spot in the batting order for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Merrill Kelly at Oracle Park. Adames has hit slightly better in the month of May to the tune of a .244/.311/.439 slash line with two home runs, two doubles, four RBI and seven runs scored in 10 games, but overall the 29-year-old has been a disappointment both offensively and defensively in his first 41 games for the Gigantes. He comes into Monday's contest batting .217 (35-for-161) with four long balls, 19 RBI, 23 runs and two stolen bases in his 182 plate appearances. The good news is he has hit .368 with a 1.084 OPS, two home runs and three RBI in 19 career at-bats against Kelly, so Adames could end up being a nice DFS sleeper on Monday night.

Brandon Woodruff Dealing With Ankle Tendinitis

The Milwaukee Brewers returned right-hander Brandon Woodruff (ankle, shoulder) from his minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville, but he's still on the 15-day injured list with right-ankle tendinitis that popped up before his final rehab start, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. The initial word is that it's a minor injury, though. It's unclear if it will impact the team's plan for Woodruff to come off the IL to make his 2025 season debut this weekend against the Minnesota Twins. The 32-year-old veteran only made it through 2 1/3 innings in his last rehab outing on Sunday with Nashville because of his ankle. Woodruff could still make his season debut against the Twins this weekend, but it's another reminder for fantasy managers to exercise caution with a pitcher that didn't make a single start in 2024 after having capsule surgery on his right shoulder in September of 2023.
