Shohei Ohtani Throws on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (elbow) threw a live batting practice session on Saturday. This was the second time that Ohtani has faced live hitters this month. He continues to make progress, but there's still more work to do before he's ready to return to the mound. The Dodgers haven't given much of a timetable for Ohtani. The hope is that he'll be able to help as a pitcher in the second half, but the Dodgers aren't going to rush it. Fantasy managers who have Ohtani as a pitcher will hopefully get something out of him in the second half of the season.

Tyler Glasnow Moved to 60-Day Injured List

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) has been transferred to the 60-day injured list on Saturday. Fantasy managers shouldn't be worried as this is only a procedural move to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. This move frees a spot for catcher Chuckie Robinson who was claimed off waivers on Saturday. Glasnow has been on the injured list since late April due to right shoulder inflammation. He has been throwing bullpen sessions, but will require a few rehab starts before rejoining the Dodgers roster. The 31-year-old is now eligible to return in late June, so fantasy managers will need to wait a few more weeks.

Freddie Freeman Playing on Saturday

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (ankle) is in the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. Freeman mentioned on Friday that he was dealing with discomfort on his surgically-repaired ankle. Despite that, Freeman will remain in the lineup, so it doesn't appear to be significant enough to put Freeman on the bench. Fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if Freeman does get a game or two off, assuming the issue doesn't go away. For now, Freeman will bat third and play first base versus right-hander Will Warren on Saturday. Fantasy managers should make sure they have Freeman in their lineups.

Freddie Freeman Aggravates his Ankle

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (ankle) said that he aggravated his surgically repaired right ankle during a rundown in Friday night's win over the visiting New York Yankees. Despite tweaking his ankle, Freeman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in the 8-5 come-from-behind victory over the Yanks on Friday, so it didn't appear to affect him at the plate. Fantasy managers will want to check back later to see if the 35-year-old veteran is in the lineup for Game 2 of the series against the Yankees at Dodger Stadium on Saturday. The Dodgers will be without shortstop Mookie Betts the rest of the series due to a fractured toe, but he's not expected to land on the injured list. Freeman was on the injured list in late March due to a sprained ankle, so this injury will certainly be worth keeping a close eye on.

Mookie Betts has Fractured Toe, to Miss Rest of Series Against Yankees

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts' (toe) X-rays revealed a fractured left second toe, according to a source, although he's not expected to land on the injured list, and the Dodgers don't think he can make the injury any worse by playing on it. The team's training staff will spend the weekend trying to get the swelling down, and Betts will not play at all in the series against the visiting New York Yankees after sitting out Friday night's win. Manager Dave Roberts hopes Betts will be able to return to the lineup soon. "For me, right now, it's just day-to-day," Roberts said. Betts suffered the injury when he banged his toe against a piece of furniture at his house. Until Betts is able to return, possibly for Monday's series opener against the New York Mets, expect veteran Miguel Rojas to handle shortstop duties for the Blue. Betts got off to a slow start but has been better in May with four home runs, 12 RBI and three steals.
