2024 Team Stats

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (ankle) said that he aggravated his surgically repaired right ankle during a rundown in Friday night's win over the visiting New York Yankees. Despite tweaking his ankle, Freeman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in the 8-5 come-from-behind victory over the Yanks on Friday, so it didn't appear to affect him at the plate. Fantasy managers will want to check back later to see if the 35-year-old veteran is in the lineup for Game 2 of the series against the Yankees at Dodger Stadium on Saturday. The Dodgers will be without shortstop Mookie Betts the rest of the series due to a fractured toe, but he's not expected to land on the injured list. Freeman was on the injured list in late March due to a sprained ankle, so this injury will certainly be worth keeping a close eye on.

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts' (toe) X-rays revealed a fractured left second toe, according to a source, although he's not expected to land on the injured list, and the Dodgers don't think he can make the injury any worse by playing on it. The team's training staff will spend the weekend trying to get the swelling down, and Betts will not play at all in the series against the visiting New York Yankees after sitting out Friday night's win. Manager Dave Roberts hopes Betts will be able to return to the lineup soon. "For me, right now, it's just day-to-day," Roberts said. Betts suffered the injury when he banged his toe against a piece of furniture at his house. Until Betts is able to return, possibly for Monday's series opener against the New York Mets, expect veteran Miguel Rojas to handle shortstop duties for the Blue. Betts got off to a slow start but has been better in May with four home runs, 12 RBI and three steals.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitching prospect Edgardo Henriquez (foot) began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on May 29. Henriquez has been sidelined throughout the first two months of the season on the 60-day IL with a foot injury. In his first taste of action, Henriquez struggled as he allowed one hit, one run, and two walks across 2/3 of an inning. Last season, the 22-year-old made his MLB debut and tossed three 1/3 innings of one-run ball with five punchouts. He spent time with each level of the minor leagues and posted a cumulative 2.72 ERA with a 1.23 across 53 innings of work. During this stretch, Henriquez struck out an impressive 88 batters and allowed just 29 walks. When he does return from the IL, he will likely compete for a middle relief role in the major league bullpen.

Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani kept on mashing on Friday, smacking a pair of solo home runs in an 8-5 victory over the New York Yankees. Ohtani hit both his homers off Yankees ace Max Fried, who was dealt his first loss of the season. The 30-year-old phenom now has a stunning 15 home runs in May, tying his career-high for a single month. For the season, Ohtani has a .294 AVG, 1.064 OPS, 61 runs, 22 homers, 37 RBI, and 11 steals. He leads the league in both homers and runs scored. If there were any doubts about Ohtani's status as the top player in fantasy after a "slow" April, they have been silenced.

Dodgers right-handed reliever Evan Phillips (forearm) will undergo Tommy John surgery, manager Dave Roberts announced. He will miss the rest of this season and likely a sizable portion of 2026 as a result. The Dodgers placed the 30-year-old on the 15-day injured list May 7 after he appeared in seven games and tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings. They shifted him to the 60-day IL after acquiring fellow reliever Alexis Diaz from the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Phillips entered the season off a great three-year, 179-inning stretch in which he pitched to a sterling 2.21 ERA and racked up 206 strikeouts against 45 walks. He won't be able to build on that success for the foreseeable future.
