Welcome to another Sunday Edition of MLB Best Bets! Though it is “Football Sunday,” we still have MLB action going on to feed the baseball lovers!
Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals
Spencer Strider will take the mound for Atlanta in what could be his last start of the regular season. Strider has been great in his sophomore campaign with a 18-5 record, 3.73 ERA and 270 strikeouts. Strider has recorded at least 8eightstrikeouts in 25 of his 30 starts this season. The Nationals enter with the second-lowest K% to RHP in the MLB, but Strider has proven to be “matchup proof.”
The “doubleheader” method is what we’ll look to attack here. Through recent history, we’ve seen strikeout artists be able to take advantage of opposing lineups when they play in Game 2 of a doubleheader. We will put that to the test with the MLB strikeout king.
Best Bet
Spencer Strider o7.5 Strikeouts
(+112, 1 Unit Wager, FanDuel Sportsbook)
Strider has recorded at least eight punchouts in two of his last three meetings against the Nationals. Strider has relied on his slider 40% of the time when ahead of the count, and the Nationals will have four targets with above league-average strikeout percentages against against that pitch.
