Arkansas +2 (-110) at Texas A&M

Arkansas has been a dependable team so far this season posting a 3-0 record. Texas A&M hasn’t had the season they’d hoped for and have already had to make a quarterback change after losing to App State in rather unimpressive fashion. Both of these teams are more battle-tested then the majority of the country at this point. Arkansas has taken down tough Cincinnati and South Carolina teams, while A&M just took down No. 13 Miami last week in a defensive battle.
Let’s not bury the lede, the main reason I like Arkansas here is because I don’t think Texas A&M is adequately equipped to take advantage of Arkansas’ weakness. Despite the 3-0 record, Arkansas ranks last in the nation in pass defense. This Texas A&M team hasn’t been able to establish the passing game against real opponents, and Max Johnson didn’t exactly light the world on fire going 10-20 for 140 yards against Miami.
Beyond the unimpressive performance last week (to his credit it was a rough matchup), I haven’t seen much to make me believe in the former LSU gunslinger. Additionally, offensive speedster Devon Achane hasn’t been able to get anything going in this lackluster offense. Overall, I think Arkansas’ offense has proven they can deal with tough tasks, and I’m expecting them to be strong on both lines and play to their strengths.
