The SEC has been the class of college football for the last decade. We’ve seen multiple teams from the conference reach the top of the sport and last season two SEC teams met for the National Championship. Oddsmakers don’t seem to think there will be a changing of the guard, but there may be a few teams that could shock the nation this fall.

Let’s take a look at the current odds to win the SEC.

College Football Odds to Win the SEC in 2022

Here are the odds for teams to win the SEC championship in 2022, per DraftKings Sportsbook.

Why is Alabama the Favorite to win the SEC?

Nick Saban has turned Alabama into a football dynasty. They are the only team to appear in every single College Football Playoff since its inception and have run the SEC for a number of years. They won the SEC last season by handing Georgia their first loss of season even though the Bulldogs would get the last laugh in the National Championship game.

Alabama will return perhaps the two best players on each side of the ball in defending Heisman Trophy Winner Bryce Young and linebacker Will Anderson. In all 13 starters will be returning from last year’s runner up team, but it doesn’t t end there.

The rich have gotten richer as Alabama picked up two former All-Americans out of the transfer portal. Cornerback Eli Ricks was a five-star caliber cornerback from LSU before injuries derailed his 2021 season. The other big addition is running back Jahmyr Gibbs from Georgia Tech. Gibbs is one of the most dynamic backs in the country as he is an elite receiver out of the backfield.

With the Tide only adding experienced talent, it’s hard to see anyone knocking them off.

SEC Dark Horses

Texas A&M (+1800)

Texas A&M is not a traditional darkhorse, but their odds are too high for a team this talented. They have ten returning starters to go along with 2022’s top recruiting class coming in. The biggest addition is quarterback Max Johnson who was the No. 1 pocket passer in the country. If their defense can regain its form from last year, the Aggies will make some noise in the SEC.

Ole Miss (+5000)

Lane Kiffin, the king of the transfer portal has done it again. The Rebels will bring back ten starters and have three shiny new weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Zach Evans were two of the highest rated players in the transfer portal and they completely change the potential of this offense. Ole Miss’s issues last year were on the defensive side of the ball and Kiffin also addressed that in the portal by bringing in multiple starters. Don’t sleep on the Rebels.

How to Bet on SEC Championship Winner odds

Step 1: Set up a sports betting account

Setting up a sportsbook account is a simple process, and it would be wise to do so on as many as possible. All they need is some basic information, and then you’ll be ready to place your first wager in no time. It is essential to have multiple accounts to shop for odds and take advantage of all the free money books like to hand out to new users.

Step 2: Deposit money into your account

Essentially every book will have some kind of deposit bonus for you after you sign up. So be sure to weigh your options once your account is made.

Step 3: Make a National Championship Futures Bet

SEC Championship odds are their juiciest before the season, so it is ideal to get them while the value is at its highest. So say you like Ole Miss to win the SEC this year. A winning bet placed now would line your pocket nicely as it would turn $100 into $5100.
