Welcome to a Friday edition of MLB best bets. Tonight, we’ll look to bounce back after a rough weekend on the diamond last week. We have an NL East series kicking off between the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies, taking place in Citizens Bank Park.

We’ll see a matchup between two young arms as 26-year-old lefty Cristopher Sánchez will take the mound for the Phillies against the 20-year-old righty Eury Pérez for the Marlins. For this game, we’ll focus on Pérez, who has been brilliant for Miami since being called up to the majors.
Eury Pérez enters 5-4 with a 2.86 ERA across 16 starts. He has been electric in the strikeout department with a 32.9% K% vs. LHB and a 27% K% vs. RHB. The Phillies are set up to be prime strikeout targets, with six guys in the lineup with above-league average K% against RHP.
