Prop God’s NFL Playbook: Week 12
Prop God
The Seattle Seahawks released defensive end Carlos Dunlap Monday, saving the team $14 million in salary-cap space, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Analysis: File this one under “as expected.” Releasing Dunlap takes $14 million dollars off the books for Seattle in advance of next week's new league year. Dunlap came over to the Seahawks in a mid-season trade after spending his first 10 seasons with Cincinnati. He managed five sacks in eight regular-season games with the Seahawks. Heading into his age-32 season, Dunlap will likely land with another team as a rotational pass rusher. As for Seattle, Pete Carroll's squad has a glaring need along the edge. Expect the Seahawks to address the position in the draft and/or via free agency.
