Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic (hand) suffered a fractured shooting hand during Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks and was not able to return after the first quarter. The team reported that X-rays were taken and they showed a break on his second metacarpal. There's a strong possibility that Jovic will miss an extended period of time, just like Tyler Herro did after breaking his hand during the Heat's 2023 playoff run. In the meantime, it seems Davion Mitchell, Kel'el Ware, and Duncan Robinson will receive plenty of minutes. Mitchell and Ware were already in the starting lineup and saw 33 minutes or more in their last game.

The 21-year-old has shaken off a questionable tag and is ready to make his 30th consecutive appearance after winning a bout with a stomach bug. Jovic has made big strides in 2024-25, averaging 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. He has even boosted his offensive output to 13.1 points in February, sinking 2.4 triples per game.

The 21-year-old has started to carve out a bigger role on the team, especially since Jimmy Butler was traded. He's seen the most playing time of his career so far and has turned into averages of 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 threes, and 1.4 turnovers per game. If he's unable to suit up, Alec Burks would see extra time off of the bench while Kyle Anderson and Jaime Jaquez Jr. continue to see bigger roles as well.
