Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs just cashed in on a massive deal after being named to an All-Defensive team last season. The former fifth-overall pick agreed to a five-year extension that will pay him $150.5 million to stay in Orlando. With Cole Anthony remaining on the bench and Markelle Fultz not on the team anymore, Suggs is primed to take on an even bigger role on both sides of the ball. Last year was his healthiest season so far as he appeared in 75 games and averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 threes, 1.4 steals, and 1.8 turnovers per game while shooting 47.1% from the floor and 39.7% from beyond the arc.

However, he fizzled in Game 7, ending the afternoon with only 10 points off 2-for-14 shooting from the field. Although Suggs added nine boards, four assists, and one steal, he had five turnovers. But overall, Suggs showed signs of growth during the 2023-24 campaign and finished by averaging a career-high 12.6 points. He also shot 39.7% from deep, a significant upgrade from last season. While constructing the roster around Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner is the team's priority moving ahead, Suggs should hold a stable spot in the rotation.

It appeared his night was over. However, Suggs managed to return to start the second half. Without question, DFS managers who have him in their lineups are thrilled he's back on the floor. However, Suggs will likely appear on the injury report heading into Game 3.
