As the fantasy football season rolls on, situations change quickly week to week. Whether injuries, totals, game scripts, etc. the NFL landscape is constantly evolving. To help diagnose those changes weekly for fantasy football, I’ll highlight them using our amazing NSL Splits tool. Let’s get to the top five for Week 5.
Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Over the last three weeks with Justin Herbert, Allen has been torching opposing secondaries and seeing a boatload of volume. Over that span, Allen leads the NFL in targets (41) and target share (40%) while also ranking eighth in air yards (334). Allen is set to smash this week against the Saints, who are allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game and second-most receiving touchdowns per game (0.8) to opposing slot wideouts.
Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
The Raiders currently sit middle of the road against opposing tight ends (15th, DVOA) after finishing 25th last year. Kelce has crushed the Raiders in his previous two seasons, averaging a ridiculous 23.6 DK points per game in his four games versus them. Kelce has yet to cross the 100-yard threshold this year despite turning in solid games each week. Kelce is due for a smash week, and this is it.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
Jacobs has had the Chiefs’ number on the ground in his short career, averaging 101.5 rushing yards against them in his two games. Jacobs has done so with only 14.5 rushing attempts per game. This year, Jacobs is the Raiders’ unquestioned workhorse averaging 20.8 rushing attempts and 4.3 targets per game. As the centerpiece of their offense, Jacobs will crush his previous marks versus the Chiefs this week.
Calvin Ridley, WR, Atlanta Falcons
With Julio Jones still banged up, if Ridley is even a shadow of himself, he’s set for a ceiling week against the Panthers. Ridley has owned this team in his four career games averaging 93.2 receiving yards, a receiving touchdown, and 21.1 DK points per game. Matt Ryan and Ridley will put last week’s stinker in the rearview with bounceback games Sunday.
