TopProp Fantasy Sports is officially live, bringing you a new way to wager on fantasy football. Are you confident that you have the best team in your league? Great, bet on it. Are you confident that your league mate Bob is going to blow John out of the water this week? Great, bet on it.
Put down your group chat where you talk trash and put your money where your mouth is. That’s what TopProp gives you the ability to do. It also gives you the ability to wager on “Expert” leagues. These can be leagues made up of your favorite fantasy football analysts, industry experts, or anyone else you simply want to wager on. One of those leagues is made up of our experts here at FTN.
Additionally, their recent launch of Battleground allows users to face off head-to-head in player-prop contests with pre-populated spreads set on their fantasy-point matchups.
To help give you an edge ahead of the week at hand, I will walk through a pair of matchups that are listed on the Battleground and provide my analysis and lean.
Battleground Matchups of the Week | TopProp FTN Expert League
While neither the Bears nor the Seahawks have much to play for Sunday, taking advantage of a running back who may not be treated with kid gloves is my plan in this matchup. With David Montgomery likely being in the long-term plans for the Bears as a fixture in their offense, we could see a reduced workload for him Sunday. On the contrary, that may not be the case for Penny, who is receiving a generous +4 bonus points against Montgomery. Penny himself has been incredibly productive over the last few weeks, averaging just over 120 rushing yards per game over his last four games with five touchdowns over that span. Given his recent form and stronger likelihood for a heavier workload, Penny with the +4 is my lean Sunday.
My second matchup features two of the elite quarterbacks in football, but only one with some added motivation Sunday.
Given the Chiefs’ slow start to the season, they still have yet to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC, something they will be gunning for on Sunday. Against a Denver defense that has allowed the third-highest aDOT (8.66 yards) this season, Mahomes should be primed to perform well in an interdivisional matchup. On the other side, Brady not only has nothing to play for with the Buccaneers locked into their playoff spot, but he lost both his RB1 (by default, Ronald Jones) and WR2 (Antonio Brown), giving him a far weaker cast of players than Mahomes.
