WR Kenny Golladay appears set to hit free agency after news Tuesday that the Detroit Lions reportedly don’t plan to franchise tag him, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The #Lions don’t plan to tag WR Kenny Golladay, per source.
No final decision on whether Detroit may use a tag on someone else, but it appears Golladay is headed to the market.

Golladay was the third-round pick for Detroit in 2017 and broke out in his second year, going for 1,063 yards in 2018 before 1,190 and a Pro Bowl berth in 2019. Golladay battled injury in 2020 and was limited to five games, 20 receptions and only 338 yards. The 27-year-old enters free agency as one of the big names on this year’s wide receiver market.
With Golladay hitting free agency, the Lions will head into 2021 without all three of their starting wideouts from last season. Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola are also set to become free agents. That leaves Detroit with just second-year man Quintez Cephus and newly signed veteran Tyrell Williams. Needless to say, Dan Campbell has his work cut out for him at the position and will have to address it via free agency and the draft.
