Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said that quarterback Trevor Lawrence (arm) was in a sleeve during mandatory minicamp on Tuesday due to "general soreness." Lawrence is wearing a sleeve on his right throwing arm. Lawrence's right arm is a bit sore after throwing a lot during OTAs, and Coen added that the former first-rounder feels good. The 25-year-old had surgery in December for an AC joint sprain in his left, non-throwing shoulder, but that shouldn't be an issue come the start of the regular season this fall. Lawrence is learning a new offense under Coen this offseason while working with rookie wideout Travis Hunter and offseason acquisition Dyami Brown, in addition to second-year pass-catcher Brian Thomas Jr. The Clemson product has enough weapons to rebound and be more efficient under Coen after an injury-plagued season in 2024. Draft Lawrence as a low-end QB2 with upside in fantasy.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has been impressed with quarterback Trevor Lawrence as he learns a new offense during voluntary organized team activities this spring. "Is he operating the offense at a high level?" Coen asked. "Yes, he is right now." The new head coach has stressed footwork for the former first overall pick, and he has seen improvement from Lawrence in that area as well. 2024 was a disappointment for Lawrence due to injuries and poor performance, as he completed just 60.6% of his passes for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 games. His fantasy stock is obviously way down going into 2025, but Lawrence should be more efficient with Coen in town and after the team added two-way star Travis Hunter with the second overall pick in the draft. Still, nobody should be considering Lawrence a QB1 in fantasy.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will be limited during OTAs this offseason, but the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft said he is optimistic he will be full-go for training camp. Lawrence underwent offseason shoulder surgery to fix a left AC joint sprain. He missed seven games last season due to shoulder and head injuries, limiting him to 2,045 passing yards and 11 passing touchdowns. The Jaguars are in the middle of a soft roster rebuild under new general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen. Brian Thomas Jr. looks like the clear WR1 of the future, but the team will need to address the WR2 and TE spots after moving on from Christian Kirk and Evan Engram following the 2025 campaign. Lawrence is unlikely to have QB1 upside in fantasy football next season.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen recently told SiriusXM NFL Radio that he plans to aid quarterback Trevor Lawrence through the team's scheme and an improved run game in 2025. The new head coach intends to give his QB the "answers to the test." "Obviously, once we get into the building, some of the football aspects: the formations, the motions, the shifts," Coen said. "But for us to help him truly...man, we've got to be able to run the football a little bit better." Jacksonville has been in the bottom third of the league regarding yards on the ground per game over the last two seasons, and Lawrence hasn't been able to overcome the team's deficits on his own merit. It's possible all he needs is the right head coach, and Coen's offense in Tampa Bay was impressive in 2024 -- ranking fourth in points (29) and third in yards (393.2) per game. The Clemson product will be a cheap pick in drafts this summer.

The Pittsburgh Steelers never called the Jacksonville Jaguars recently about potentially trading for quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder), according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. Last week, Ryan Burr of the Big 10 Network reported that the Steelers reached out to the Jags about Lawrence, but sources quickly said there's "no chance" it would happen. Lawrence said on Monday that he won't waive his no-trade clause and won't go to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are at a crossroads at the QB position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields entering free agency, but they are expected to re-sign one of them this offseason. Although the Jaguars remain without a new general manager, those in the front office apparently remain fully committed to the former first overall pick out of Clemson. Fantasy managers, however, will probably be ignoring him this fall in 12-team, one-QB leagues.
