Juwan Johnson Comes Up Empty On 2-Point Attempt

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson was a non-factor for most of the day in Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Commanders. He finished with two catches for 12 yards on three targets. Johnson did not see his first target until the fourth quarter, on a shot over the middle that was well off the mark and nearly picked off. Johnson's receptions came on the Saints' final drive of the game that culminated in a touchdown to fellow tight end Foster Moreau as the game clock expired. Quarterback Spencer Rattler looked to Johnson on the ensuing two-point attempt to give New Orleans the win but sent his pass wide and Johnson had to dive just to get a hand on it. Johnson now has 36 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns on 47 targets this season. He will continue to serve as the Saints' primary pass-catching tight end though he should not be expected to return much fantasy value going forward, especially if Derek Carr (concussion, hand) remains sidelined.

Juwan Johnson Off Injury Report For Week 15

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (foot) was limited in practice twice to start the week but logged a full practice on Friday. He carries no designation heading into the Saints' Week 15 clash with the Washington Commanders. Even with the Saints' wide receiver corps banged up and utilityman Taysom Hill (knee) suffering a season-ending injury in Week 13, Johnson has not moved past being a touchdown-dependent fantasy option. Odds for another score are not in his favor in Week 15, as Jake Haener will make his first NFL start over Derek Carr (concussion, hand). While it is often assumed that an inexperienced starter might turn to their tight ends as safety blankets, when Carr missed three games earlier this season Johnson saw 13 targets and produced a 9-114-0 line. Johnson's prospects for fantasy relevance were slim to begin with but without Carr, his potential takes a hit and he should not be relied on for the first round of the fantasy playoffs.

Juwan Johnson Catches TD Pass In Win

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson caught four of his five targets for a season-high 50 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 14-11 win over the Giants. Johnson's score came late in the third quarter on an 11-yard pass when quarterback Derek Carr (hand, head) found his tight end unmarked over the middle for an easy touchdown, his second in the Saints' last three games. Johnson was also on the receiving end of the Saints' second-longest play of the game, a 30-yard pass that came in the first quarter. Carr exited the game due to injuries sustained on a designed run late in the fourth quarter. If he is sidelined in the weeks, then Spencer Rattler or Jake Haener would take over under center, either of whom might look to the tight end as a safe target. It is worth noting that the Saints' offense tanked during Carr's previous absence this season and Johnson himself averaged three targets and 37 yards per game during that three-week period. In Week 15, the Saints face the Washington Commanders.
