Daniel Carlson Makes Two Field Goals And One Extra Point In Week 11

Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson made both his field goals, attempts of 22 and 27 yards, and nailed his only extra point try in his team's loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 11. Though he didn't face too difficult of a test, at least he didn't miss any of his kicks, which is more than can be said for other kickers. Regardless, it wasn't a great week for him for fantasy football, and he continues to see very little volume, which he would need to be fantasy relevant. He'll face the Denver Broncos in Week 12, who have a defense that will likely limit the Raiders' scoring potential. Denver boasts an excellent defense that just aided the team in winning a 38-6 blasting over the Atlanta Falcons.

Daniel Carlson's Production Will Depend On Offensive Success

Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson faces a consistent struggle for fantasy success -- limited opportunities to kick field goals and extra points. Luckily for him, the opposing Miami Dolphins team, who the Raiders face in Week 11, allow plenty of points to opposing kickers. It could be because they allow teams to drive down the field, but stiffen in the red zone. This would be a perfect situation for Carlson. Still, starting him in fantasy leagues comes with plenty of risk -- he's the 17th ranked kicker on the season, so outside of very deep leagues, there are likely better options to put in your starting lineups. But he's a decent player to start nonetheless.

Daniel Carlson Nails Only Field-Goal Attempt And Three Extra Points In Loss

Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson converted his only field-goal attempt, a 46-yarder, and hit all three of his extra points in the team's 24-41 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9. He moved to 16 for 18 on FG tries on the season, a clip of 88.9%. He also remained perfect on extra points, as he's sank all 14 of those successfully. He's still held back by Las Vegas' general ineffectiveness on offense. He ranks just 10th in the league in total field goal attempts despite not having had his bye week yet, and is 23rd in the NFL in extra points attempted. The "free points" nature of XP's, and his lack of volume on those opportunities, make him a decent start only in deeper leagues. He'll head into a Week 10 bye before facing the brutal Kansas City Chief defense yet again in Week 11.
