NFL FanDuel Slate Breakdown: Super Bowl

Share

The Super Bowl is almost here, but this DFS slate is a bit difficult to build lineups. Most showdowns will leave you with the feeling that you’re leaving out players that you have to play, but that’s especially true on this slate. There are so many game-breaking options and they aren’t cheap so let’s get into it.

Quarterbacks

A lot of lineups typically will try to jam in both quarterbacks for the showdown slate, but there is a Saquon Barkley-sized asterisk to that approach. While it’s not impossible to play Barkley, Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes in the same lineup on FD, you do have to scrape the barrel for the last two spots and miss out on a lot of other skill-position players. Let’s start with Mahomes, who has had a rocky season as far as fantasy goes. The AFC Championship Game was his best fantasy game of the season, in large part due to two rushing touchdowns. The 18 rushing attempts in the past two games feel extremely notable, because it’s a weapon that Mahomes doesn’t break out often. He only had 58 attempts on the season, and both the Philly and Kansas City defenses were in the bottom 10 in scrambles allowed. The Eagles also played single-high at the 10th-highest rate in football while Mahomes threw for 13 touchdowns and had a 93.6 passer rating.
