NFL DFS Injury Report: Divisional Round

It’s one of the best weekends of football of the whole year as the best eight teams are left standing. We don’t have an overwhelming amount of injuries on the offensive side of the ball, but there are a couple that are key to certain teams.

Below is the Saturday update. Check at bottom for the original writeup from Monday.

NFL DFS Injury Report: Divisional Round

Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens

The return of Mark Andrews will have to wait at least one more week, as he’s not going to be active for this matchup against the Texans. That means Isaiah Likely is going to continue to be the lead option in the tight end room and he played at least 63% of the snaps in games that mattered down the stretch. Not only was he on the field but he was very productive, flirting with being a top-five tight end in that time span.

Gabe Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills

Gabe Davis is going to miss his second straight game with a knee issue, and we saw Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield both play over 60% of the snaps last week. Shakir had more targets with six and a spectacular touchdown compared to four targets for Sherfield but both can be considered for cheap plays on this weekend slate. I do prefer Shakir — it seems as though anytime he touches the ball, good things happen.

Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are not reporting an injury for any of their receivers for the first time in a very long time, Christian Watson included. I do think Watson can be a game-breaker in this spot and I’m not worried about his number of snaps from the last game. For one thing, the Packers were in control almost the entire game. The first time Watson came back from an injury, he played just under 50% of the snaps but the following week, he was up to nearly 90%. I’d expect something like that scenario to happen again and Watson would be far too cheap if that’s the case.

Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions

One of the lone players who is listed as questionable is Sam LaPorta, but there isn’t much fear of him missing. He played 80% of the snaps last week, which was quite the feat considering how serious his knee injury looked in the final week of the regular season.

Original Saturday Run

We’ll be down to eight teams after the two Monday games for the NFL playoffs, so that means the injury report is getting smaller. Most of the main concerns are with teams that have been eliminated.

The Rams saw running back Kyren Williams suffer a hand injury and tight end Tyler Higbee possibly suffer a torn ACL. We’ll be focused on the teams that play this upcoming week, and it will be updated with any injuries from the Monday games.

Noah Brown, Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud and the Texans rolled against the Cleveland Browns, but Noah Brown made it just five snaps before leaving the game. Robert Woods was also a part-time player with just 33% of the snaps, so it led John Metchie to log 76% of the snaps and Xavier Hutchinson to play 43%, which is something to keep in mind for this week. We should also keep in mind that Metchie saw just two targets and Hutchinson saw four. Nico Collins saw another nine and is dominating the passing game right now, so we shouldn’t see that change this week.

Kadarius Toney, Kansas City Chiefs

Kadarius Toney missed the Ice Bowl game on Saturday, so Rashee Rice led the receiving room in snaps, targets, receptions and yards just as he’s been doing. What happened behind Rice was interesting, as Justin Watson played 64% of the snaps but was mostly irrelevant. I’m once again going to be interested in Mecole Hardman, even though he logged just 34% of the snaps because he had three deep targets. It was the same old story for the Chiefs, as none of the deep shots hit for various reasons, but Hardman was open on multiple plays, so he’s got a shot to be a difference-maker in DFS lineups if he can just convert one chance.

Green Bay Receivers

This team has been immensely frustrating this season, as Romeo Doubs went crazy against the Cowboys seemingly out of nowhere. Doubs, Bo Melton, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed were all active on Sunday, but Doubs and Wicks were the only players to go over 50% of the snaps. It’s going to make projecting this week against the 49ers a bit of a problem, but we’ll get a better read on things throughout the week with practice reports. If Watson came out of the game Sunday without any issues, he could be a game-breaker on Sunday.

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

The star tight end for the Ravens had his 21-day window opened last week to practice with the team, and all indications are that he’s going to play this upcoming week. The Ravens are waiting for their opponent based on Monday’s games, but if Andrews is going to play, I would think we should expect nearly a full workload.
