Patriots "Not Concerned" About Drake Maye

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said that he's "not concerned" about rookie quarterback Drake Maye's (knee) status for the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Maye was on Wednesday's injury report as a full participant but went for an MRI exam on his knee after practice. "Looked good to me yesterday," Van Pelt said. We'll keep a close eye on Maye leading up to Sunday's contest across the pond, but all indications are that he'll be fine to make his second career start against a porous Jacksonville secondary. The 22-year-old had ups and downs in last week's blowout loss to the Houston Texans, going 20-for-33 for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while also losing a fumble. For fantasy purposes, he'll be a low-end QB2 with upside in a great matchup against the Jaguars.UPDATE: Maye was seen practicing again on Thursday and looked fine.

Drake Maye Goes For MRI After Practice

New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye (knee) was able to put in a full practice on Wednesday after banging up his knee in his first career start in the Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans, but he went for an MRI exam after practice. It's something to watch for fantasy managers in superflex, two-QB leagues as the Patriots prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this Sunday. In the 22-year-old's first NFL start, he went 20-for-33 for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, adding five carries for 38 yards and a lost fumble. It obviously was an up-and-down performance, but Maye certainly gives fantasy managers in two-QB leagues much more upside than Jacoby Brissett. And in a fantastic Week 7 matchup against the one-win Jags, Maye will definitely have some QB2 upside if he's able to suit up.

Rhamondre Stevenson Not Practicing To Begin Week 7

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) is not practicing on Wednesday ahead of the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The fourth-year pro missed last week's contest with a football injury, and his status for Sunday's contest appears to be in doubt. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but if he cannot go, Antonio Gibson will draw another start. In Week 6 against the Houston Texans, Gibson only produced 19 rushing yards on 13 attempts and 24 receiving yards on three receptions (four targets). However, the Jaguars present a much friendlier matchup for running backs, so Gibson could bounce back if he's in the RB1 role once again.

Antonio Gibson Inefficient On Ground In Week 6

New England Patriots running back Antonio Gibson registered 19 rushing yards on 13 carries during Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans. He also caught three of four targets for an additional 24 yards through the air. Gibson earned his second consecutive start this week with Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) sidelined. Despite setting a new season-high in both rushes and touches, Gibson struggled to produce and was significantly inefficient on the ground. Through the air, he was merely a modest contributor. All in all, we'd like to see more production from Gibson before we can trust him in fantasy football, even with Stevenson out. It's too early to tell what the Patriots' backfield dynamic will look like for Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

Hunter Henry Catches Touchdown Pass From Rookie QB

New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry caught three of five targets for 41 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans. The veteran pass-catcher served as a solid security blanket for rookie quarterback Drake Maye in his first career start, and the two continue to form a solid rapport in the passing attack. This was just Henry's second game of the season with at least three catches, five targets, or 33 yards. The touchdown reception was also his first since Week 15 of the 2023 season. Heading into Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, Henry ranks as a mid-to-low TE2 for fantasy football.
