Moves to Make Now in Dynasty Fantasy Football (10/25)

Share

This week’s edition of “Dynasty Moves to Make” has a couple of big names and a few players floating on waivers who could turn increased playing time into fantasy viability.

As a reminder, buying doesn’t mean getting a player for Kadarius Toney and a signed Kadarius Toney Yung Joka album. Selling doesn’t mean you must rid your rosters of said player for 10 cents on the dollar. When players are improperly valued, take advantage.

Dynasty Moves to Make: Buys

Anthony Richardson, QB, Indianapolis Colts

In this week’s 10 Things to Know, I wrote that it’s time to bench Anthony Richardson due to his subpar start to the season. But that same subpar start is what’s going to get you a discount on Richardson in dynasty.

There’s no denying he’s looked awful so far in 2024. Richardson has a completion percentage under 50% and twice as many interceptions as touchdowns. But things aren’t quite as bad as they seem. It’s well known that accuracy isn’t a strength of Richardson’s, coming out of college with a career completion percentage in the mid-50s. Last season, when he was setting the fantasy world on fire, his completion percentage was only 59.5%. He’s still rushing the ball, averaging 39.4 rushing yards per game (including Week 4, where he only played 20% of snaps).

He’s throwing the ball downfield more, according to FTN StatsHub. His average depth of target has increased from 8 yards to 12, and he’s averaging roughly 80 more air yards per game. Richardson was a raw prospect when the Colts drafted him; growing pains were to be expected. He’s played in less than 10 games in his professional career. The panic is overblown, and it’s well worth checking in to see if you’re able to acquire Richardson at a discount.

Players I’d be willing to trade for Richardson 1 for 1: Justin Herbert, Kyler Murray, Brock Purdy
