The Denver Broncos will try to start off the season 2-0 after a thorough Week 1 beatdown of the New York Giants. They continue their road trip to the state of Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Teddy Bridgewater is leading the offense this year after beating out incumbent Drew Lock for the starting gig and was able to move the ball enough to get the victory. The Broncos are road favorites again in Week 2 and are 6-point road favorites vs the Jaguars.

Super Bowl odds update – Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have the unfortunate reality of not making the postseason since 2015 and when they made it last time, they won the Super Bowl over the Carolina Panthers. Since then, they’re a collective 33-48 in the standings and entering Week 2 of the 2021 season, the Broncos odds to win Super Bowl 56 remain at +5000 at BetMGM.

  • Week 2: +5000
  • Week 1: +5000
  • Preseason: +5000

Broncos futures odds

The main futures markets to pay attention to for the Denver Broncos are odds to win the AFC West and AFC conference odds.

For the AFC West, they trail the Super Bowl favorite Kansas City Chiefs (-280) and are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers, each at +750 odds to win the AFC South. The Las Vegas Raiders are also +1600 despite also winning in Week 1. They have a shot to surprise some teams, but Denver needs to win games within the division as it finished 1-5 in games against those three squads in 2020.

As for AFC Conference odds, the Broncos are far down the list to get back to the Super Bowl and sit at +2500 odds at BetMGM to pull it off. That’s the 11th-best odds in the conference and seems highly unlikely given the other three teams ahead of them in their own division.

Von Miller NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds

Although he’s a bit past his prime as a game wrecker, Broncos defensive end Von Miller could be a great candidate to bounce back for NFL Comeback Player of the Year. The former Defensive Player of the Year suffered an ankle injury in training camp last season and didn’t play a regular season snap. All reports out of Denver say he’s back to his explosive self and he showed in Week 1 without defensive end Bradley Chubb that he can still make an impact as he had two sacks and three tackles.

Looking at the Broncos schedule, they’ve two more teams upcoming with below-average offensive lines in the Jaguars and Jets which could put Miller in a very actionable position to lead the NFL in sacks to start the season. If Miller comes out strong and the Broncos are 3-0, he’ll be in the forefront of the conversation of NFL Comeback Player of the Year. At +3000 odds at BetMGM, it’s worth a bet at this stage.

Denver Broncos betting trends

The Broncos are coming off a season where, even though they finished 5-11 in the standings, they were a reliable spread most weeks. They finished 9-7 against the spread in 2020 and 5-3 ATS in road games. They also added to that winning spread total but winning and covering the spread in Week 1 vs the Giants.

Totals bettors didn’t find much of an edge for this squad last year as the Broncos had a 8-8 O/U record despite finishing as a bottom-five offense and bottom-10 defense. Oddsmakers were especially sharp in generating lines for the totals in games involving Denver with an average closing total of 44.7. The final score for Week 1 fell short of the closing total of 44.5.

Here are the updated trends from the 2020 season:

  • 9-7 ATS
  • 8-8 on Totals
