In his second year in the NFL in 2021, CeeDee Lamb posted 79 receptions, 1,102 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. Now without Amari Cooper as a running mate, Lamb is looking to build upon a strong 2021 season as the Cowboy’s No. 1 receiving option.
Lamb was drafted in the first round in 2020 to be the Cowboy’s best offensive weapon, and he is slated to take that step forward this season. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Lamb’s 2022 receiving yard prop bet is set at 1,175.5, and his touchdown prop is set at 7.5, both over his 2021 totals.
Lamb’s 2022 outlook depends on how healthy Dak Prescott is and if Lamb will be able to take over the responsibilities of a true No. 1 WR. Having Amari Cooper as a running mate gave Lamb more opportunities last season and Prescott was not 100% healthy all last season. If Lamb can prove he has what it takes to step up, and Prescott stays healthy, Lamb is a candidate to have a breakout season.
Let’s dive into CeeDee Lamb’s receiving props and determine if Lamb will go over or under the totals set by oddsmakers for 2022.

How Many Receiving Yards will CeeDee Lamb Have in 2022?
Over 1,175.5 (-115)
CeeDee Lamb was a first-round pick in 2020 and he has not disappointed Cowboy fans in his two years in the league. Lamb beat on his receiving yards total in both of his seasons, and I expect him to take another leap forward this season.
Lamb’s skillset is unique since he is such a threat after the catch. This allows Lamb to rack up yardage with his speed in the open field with the ball in his hand. This allows Dak Prescott to find Lamb on short routes, bubble screens and more to allow his playmaker to do what he does, which is make big plays happen.
I am not fully bullish on Lamb — I think he is a great talent, but I think he has a way to go to be a top WR in this league, so I do not think this total is completely mispriced. However, with a healthy Dak, and with Lamb being the true No. 1 receiving option, I expect him to go over this total, even if by only a few yards.
The Cowboys need production out of Lamb since he will be the best WR on their roster by a solid margin. Michael Gallop is coming off an injury and the Cowboys drafted WR Jalen Tolbert, but neither of these players has proven to be of Lamb’s caliber. If Lamb wants to solidify himself as a top-tier WR, and if the Cowboys’ offense wants to be as good as they were in 2021, Lamb will need to take a step forward.
How Many Touchdown Receptions Will CeeDee Lamb Have in 2022?
Under 7.5 TD Receptions (-115)
Being the No. 1 WR on an NFL offense comes with a ton of responsibilities, and, generally, you would think it comes with more touchdowns. However, being a true No. 1 means the defense knows where you are aligned on every single snap, and it makes it much harder for the WR to win against the defense. It will be up to Kellen Moore to scheme Lamb open to make his life easier.
When it comes to scoring touchdowns, and the red zone, that is where the defense will lock in more heavily on a team’s No. 1 receiving option. So, with Lamb getting the spotlight from the defense, I do not think he will be able to score more than eight touchdowns this season.
Dallas has a great running back duo of Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard to steal scores for Lamb and Dalton Schultz at TE should see a lot of red zone targets. Lamb is the best receiving option on the Cowboys, but this does not bode well for his TD output. Lamb is not a true home-run threat despite his skills in the open field, so I do not anticipate Lamb taking many short or medium passes all the way to the house.
Scoring touchdowns is difficult in the NFL and it is even more difficult when the defense is eyeing you down on every snap. With so many factors going into touchdown scoring, I am not a believer in Kellen Moore’s ability to get Lamb the ball when the Cowboys need a score.
