The Washington Football Team will keep their stud right guard around for at least one more season, reportedly franchise tagging RG Brandon Scherff Monday ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
Sources tell me the Washington Football Team will use the franchise tag on RG Brandon Scherff.

Scherff, 29, was Washington’s first-round pick (fifth overall) back in 2015. He’s played all six seasons with the team — he played all 16 games in each of his first two seasons, but has missed at least two games in each season since.
(Jeff Ratcliffe goes through all the franchise tag news here)
Fantasy slant: A second franchise tag in a row means Scherff will see a 20% pay bump from the $15 million he made in 2020. One of the league's top guards over the last half decade, Scherff allowed a pressure on just 3.5% of his pass blocking snaps last season. Of course, the bigger question for Washington is who will be under center in 2021. The Football teams holds the No. 19 pick in the draft and could have a shot at landing one of the top-five quarterbacks in this year's class. Washington could also add a signal caller via free agency. Regardless, Scherff's presence will help this future unnamed quarterback along with a run game that features an explosive young option in Antonio Gibson.
