Titans Won't Use Franchise Tag On Derrick Henry

The Tennessee Titans won't use their franchise tag on impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry this year, according to league sources. With a new coaching staff coming in this offseason, it wasn't expected that the Titans would make much of an effort to retain King Henry as he heads into his age-30 season. The former second-rounder in 2016 out of Alabama has been a Pro Bowler in four of the last five seasons, although he showed some signs of decline in 2023. He had a league-high 280 carries for 1,167 yards (career-low-tying 4.2 yards per carry) and 12 touchdowns, adding 28 catches for 214 yards and no touchdowns as a pass-catcher. Henry may not age gracefully, but he should still have plenty of fantasy appeal in 2024 with a contending team.

Baltimore County Police Suspends Investigation Of Zay Flowers

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was reportedly being investigated by Baltimore County Police for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident. However, the investigation has been suspended, and he will not face charges. It's unclear what the alleged incident was, but his availability for the organization is now unlikely to be affected. The 2023 first-round pick posted 77 catches on 108 targets for 858 yards and five touchdowns in his first season out of Boston College. He should remain a top-two target in Lamar Jackson's passing offense along with tight end Mark Andrews in 2024.

Lamar Jackson Wins Second MVP Award

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career. Although Jackson still has been unable to find much success in the postseason, there's no doubt that he deserved his second MVP after what was a phenomenal 2023 season as a whole. The 27-year-old threw for a career-high 3,678 yards while throwing 24 touchdowns and only seven interceptions in 16 regular season games. He added 148 rushing attempts for an additional 821 rushing yards and five more touchdowns on the ground. After getting injured late in each of the last two seasons, Jackson stayed healthy all year and proved he's one of the league's elite dual threats under center.

Zay Flowers Being Investigated For Alleged Domestic Assault

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is being investigated by Baltimore County Police for his involvement in alleged domestic violence. There are currently no details available on the exact nature of the domestic-violence claims, and Flowers hasn't been officially charged with a crime. This is a story we'll be watching closely this offseason, though, as it could lead to a suspension from the NFL, even if Flowers doesn't end up being charged with anything. The 23-year-old first-round pick from Boston College had a successful first year in the NFL in 2023 with 77 catches on 108 targets for 858 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season as quarterback Lamar Jackson's go-to target after tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) was injured in Week 11.

Rashod Bateman To Be A Starter In 2024

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that wide receiver Rashod Bateman will be a starter in 2024 and will be playing a lot of snaps. Harbaugh said Bateman has become a "great, great route-runner. Rashod Bateman has a great future." The former first-rounder's numbers weren't very great in his third year in the NFL in 2023, as he caught just 32 passes for 367 yards and one touchdown on 56 targets in 16 regular-season games. Rookie first-rounder Zay Flowers became quarterback Lamar Jackson's top target once tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) went down with an injury in Week 11. But even before then, the 24-year-old Bateman had taken a back seat to Flowers and was even overshadowed by Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor at times. Despite Harbaugh's words, Bateman has an uphill battle to climb for an expanded role as long as Flowers and Andrews stay healthy in 2024.
