The final month of the NFL regular season is a critical time to gauge the Offensive Player of the Year market with a lot of movement from now until the start of the playoffs. Although it may seem like a one-man race, it’s still way too early to crown a winner with four more games remaining.
2024 NFL OPOY Odds and Best Bets
Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
(-450, FanDuel Sportsbook)
With 124 yards in Week 14, Saquon Barkley set a new Eagles franchise record in single-season rushing yards … with four more games still on the schedule. He’s currently averaging 124.8 rushing yards per game, on pace to pass Eric Dickerson for the most rushing yards all-time in a single season. At -450 odds, Barkley is the heavy favorite to win Offensive Player of the Year and for good reason, but the bet is unplayable at the current price. However, there may be a window to buy after this weekend in a matchup Barkley could struggle, facing a Steelers defense allowing the sixth-fewest rushing yards (78.8) per game to opposing running backs.
Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
(+750, DraftKings Sportsbook/BetMGM)
The Bengals have been all but eliminated from the postseason, but that hasn’t stopped Ja’Marr Chase from lighting it up every week, racking up 14 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns in a come-from-behind victory over the Cowboys Monday night. It may feel uncomfortable to back a player whose team might not have anything to play for down the stretch, but Chase is on the verge of history, looking to become the next Triple Crown winner since Cooper Kupp in 2021, leading the league in receptions (93), receiving yards (1,319) and receiving touchdowns (15) by a wide margin.
Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens
(+1000, BetRivers)
Derrick Henry was the runaway favorite for Offensive Player of the Year early on, but his stock has plummeted in recent weeks, getting outplayed by Saquon Barkley head-to-head the last time he was on the field. Still, he’s tied for first in the NFL in rushing touchdowns (13) and one of only two players averaging over 100 rushing yards per game (108.2). With a full week off, now would be the ideal time to buy low on the big dog, ahead of a potential eruption spot in Week 15, facing a Giants defense allowing the fourth-most rushing yards (115.2) per game to opposing running backs.
