San Antonio Spurs power forward Jeremy Sochan is working on improving his shooting and has said it's going "well." The 21-year-old is a man of many talents but has struggled to shoot efficiently on the NBA stage. His shooting form looks strange, to say the least, and Sochan even uses a one-handed technique for his free throws. He has been a 44.4 percent career shooter, hitting 28.5 percent of his attempts from behind the arc. Despite the shooting struggles, Sochan has averaged 11.3 points for his career. With improved shooting numbers, his scoring output is bound to rise. Sochan's productivity should also get a boost in 2024-25 with the presence of elite playmaker Chris Paul, who is masterful in finding open looks for his teammates.
According to Nick Moyle of The San Antonio Express-News, San Antonio Spurs guard/forward Jeremy Sochan (ankle) was cleared to resume basketball activities and is currently training with the Polish national team ahead of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. The 2022 No. 9 overall pick had a decent sophomore season, averaging 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. However, he was limited to 74 games because of ankle surgery. Sochan has several areas that need to be addressed, with his three-point shooting being one of them. But his usage rate could improve if he remains a primary ball-handler, and his involvement in the offense could increase if the Spurs move on from Keldon Johnson this offseason.
San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan (ankle) is officially done for the rest of the season. The organization announced on Monday that Sochan will undergo arthroscopic surgery. This is a tough blow after Sochan suffered the injury during Friday's game. Cedi Osman started in his place on Sunday and figures to continue playing with the starting unit the rest of the way. Sochan fell out of the starting point guard role early in the season but still put together a decent campaign. He'll be worth a look as a late-round option heading into next season.
