Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Caruso (illness) won't play on Wednesday against Boston. He's missed 23 games this season. But the 30-year-old is sidelined versus the defending champs because of an illness. However, OKC won't play again until Saturday in Detroit, so there's a chance he'll feel better by then. Caruso has averaged only 6.5 points this season, down from the 2023-24 campaign. Still, his absence will be felt the most on the defensive end. Without Caruso on the floor, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, and Cason Wallace may see more action.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Jalen Williams (hip) has been ruled out for Wednesday's big matchup against the Boston Celtics. Williams sustained a right hip strain in Monday's meeting with the Denver Nuggets. On Monday, Cason Wallace started the second half instead of Williams, putting in a solid performance with 12 points, eight assists, and three steals. With Williams unavailable, Alex Caruso and Isaiah Joe may also carry greater workloads on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams (hip) was forced to exit early during Monday's game against the Denver Nuggets. Williams appeared to have suffered some kind of hip injury during the second quarter of Monday's contest. He'll finish his night with 12 points and six assists across 13 minutes of action. The expectation is that Aaron Wiggins and Cason Wallace should see increased playing time the rest of the way. Both players will likely see more minutes going forward if Williams is forced to miss any time after Monday's contest.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (lower leg) will not play in Friday's contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. He will sit out a second consecutive game due to a right lower leg contusion. This means that the Thunder will head out on Friday without any of its regular starters available. As a result, we can expect some unusual stat lines. Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams will directly benefit from Holmgren's absence. OKC should be back to full strength on Sunday versus the Denver Nuggets.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Luguentz Dort (knee) will not suit up for Friday's contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. He's among OKC's lengthy list of injuries due to a knee issue. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (rest), Jalen Williams (wrist), Isaiah Hartenstein (nose), and Cason Wallace (knee) will also be out on Friday, with Chet Holmgren (lower leg) potentially joining them on the sidelines. In this situation, the likes of Alex Caruso, Aaron Wiggins, and Isaiah Joe should get plenty of extra work in Friday's game.
