Oklahoma City Exercises Option On Ousmane Dieng Wednesday

On Wednesday, Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced they had exercised their fourth-year contract option on forward Ousmane Dieng. Dieng has played 72 games in the past two seasons and averaged 4.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 13 minutes per contest. The 21-year-old had an excellent season in the G League in 2024 as he helped the Blue win their first Championship and was named G League Finals MVP.

Thunder Exercise Option On Chet Holmgren

On Wednesday, Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced that the team had exercised its fourth-year contract option on forward/center Chet Holmgren. Last season, he received NBA All-Rookie First Team honors as he started 82 games. He also finished second in Rookie of the Year voting after averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.3 blocks in 29.4 minutes. The 22-year-old quietly filled the stat sheet last season, and he will also make a significant impact in fantasy for this year's campaign.

Isaiah Hartenstein Out With Fractured Hand

Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein has suffered a small, non-displaced fracture in his left hand and will be re-evaluated in five-to-six weeks, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The 26-year-old big man suffered the injury in Tuesday's preseason contest against Denver. Harteinstein was set to be the Thunder's new starting center after the team brought him in over the summer as a free agent from New York. Chet Holmgren will now likely remain at the center position to start the 2024-25 campaign, while the door has opened for Alex Caruso to enter the first unit.

Jaylin Williams To Miss Preseason

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Jaylin Williams (hamstring) will sit out the preseason. Williams has sustained a right hamstring strain, and the team will re-evaluate him after the preseason. The Thunder kick off their regular-season slate on Oct. 24 versus Denver. Williams saw his playing time drop during his sophomore campaign in 2023-24, as he averaged 13.0 minutes across 69 games. The addition of Isaiah Hartenstein will make his life even more difficult in Oklahoma City. With Kenrich Williams (knee) also out, we should see a lot of Ousmane Dieng in preseason.

Kenrich Williams Has Knee Procedure On Tuesday

Per The Athletic's Andrew Schlect, Oklahoma City Thunder forwardKenrich Williams(knee) had a successful arthroscopic debridement procedure on his right knee on Tuesday. Williams's knee will be reevaluated after the Thunder's preseason concludes. In 2023-24, the 29-year-old appeared in 69 regular-season contests and averaged 4.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Once healthy, Williams will likely not be much of a fantasy contributor, as his time on the court was reduced to 14.9 minutes per contest in last year's campaign.
