Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons (leg) has picked up a questionable tag ahead of Thursday's matchup against Atlanta. He wasn't on the team's initial injury report. Simmons could be out for a second consecutive game after sitting out the tail end of a back-to-back on Tuesday against Orlando. Dennis Schroder and Dennis Smith Jr. should get more action on the Brooklyn backcourt without Simmons, especially with Cam Thomas (ankle) already shelved for the contest.

The Atlanta Hawks have waived veteran guard Patty Mills. The 35-year-old leaves the team after averaging just 10.6 minutes of action across 19 games in 2023-24. The team made the move to covert Trent Forrest's two-way contract into a standard deal. Forrest, who's playing his fourth year in the league, has had a similar role to Mills, featuring in 20 games and averaging 10.5 minutes, but he's a much younger player and could offer a lot more to the team going forward. However, Forrest has yet to make an impact in the NBA, with his career averages standing at 2.8 points and 1.7 assists.

Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins (personal) will be away from the team indefinitely, head coach Steve Kerr has revealed. He will miss a second consecutive contest on Thursday versus the Knicks, and it's unclear when Wiggins will be available again. "We're in a position where Wiggs is a private person and he's asked to keep it private and we're gonna honor that," Kerr said on Bay Area radio station 95.7 The Game. "So it doesn't help for me to sit here and try to explain any of that. The bottom line is we respect Wiggs, we need him and we fully expect him back, but we just don't know when that will be." Moses Moody started in place of Wiggins on Tuesday against Denver, posting 12 points with three rebounds and two steals in 23 minutes.

Chicago Bulls center Andre Drummond notched 17 points and rocked the glass with 26 rebounds in Wednesday's 132-123 double-overtime win against the Cavaliers. Drummond made his 10th start of the campaign as Chicago tried to counter Cleveland's big frontcourt. He added three blocks and an assist to his big double-double, finishing with 8-for-12 shooting in 36 minutes. It was Drummond's ninth career game with at least 25 rebounds, which is the most in the NBA since 2000. He's now averaging 14.1 points and 17.9 rebounds as a starter this season. This was a vintage Drummond performance, but he's set to head back to the bench for the next matchup, and it might take a while until we see him in full flow again.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James outscored the Clippers on his own in the fourth quarter to lift the team to a 116-112 victory in the Battle of Los Angeles on Wednesday night. With James leading the charge, the Lakers pulled off a 21-point comeback in the fourth. It marks the largest fourth-quarter comeback in James' career. He masterminded the late push with a 19-point effort in the quarter, while the Clippers were limited to only 16 points across the final 12 minutes of action. James had a game-high 34 points in total with a spectacular 7-for-12 effort from deep. He shot 13-for-21 overall and completed his line with six rebounds, eight assists, and two blocks. James has been a man on a mission since returning from the All-Star break, averaging 30.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 9.7 assists in three games with 57 percent shooting from behind the arc.
