5 Stats to Know: NBA DFS October 29

Share

There are six NBA games in store Saturday on the main DFS slate, but there are some very strong spots for the stars and one play that everyone will be on. Ja Morant is doubtful, so there will be a ton of attention on the Grizzlies, just like the Trail Blazers Friday in the late game on the slate.

The Chicago Bulls are allowing a 30.0% field goal rate defending post-ups

That simply cannot last, and it will start regressing when Joel Embiid (likely) takes the floor. Embiid is averaging 6.2 points per game from the post up and he’s only shooting 46.2% so far. He hasn’t played that well yet but it’s only a matter of time before Embiid explodes.

Tyus Jones leads the Memphis Grizzlies in minutes without Morant

It’s a 71-minute sample this year, but Jones has been the primary backup for Morant, and he’s playing well. He’s produced 0.93 points per minute on a 25.8% usage rate but only has a 36.7% true shooting rate. Don’t be concerned about the points per minute for Jones.

Tyrese Haliburton is averaging a double-double

He is also leading the league in potential assists at 19.8 through six games so his 10.3 assists per game might even be a bit low. With the Nets playing dreadful defense so far, Haliburton feels like a bargain even at his salary since he’s driving the offense for Indiana.

The Atlanta Hawks are allowing 16 points per game in transition

Giannis Antetokounmpo NBA DFS Stats to Know

They’ve faced the second-lowest frequency so far of transition attempts, but Giannis Antetokounmpo will fix that. He’s leading the league in points scored at 11.3 and is shooting 72.7% on those attempts.

The Golden State Warriors are 10.5-point favorites

Even though the Charlotte Hornets got destroyed Friday, Golden State has barely reached double-digits for being favored. With all of the other players available tonight, Stephen Curry might not get the attention he should. He’s averaging well over 30 points per game and is scoring at will.
