NBA Game of the Day, 2/6: Mavericks vs. Celtics

Share

Happy NBA trade deadline day! There has been a flurry of activity already, and there seems to be even more to come. All the uncertainty makes it tough to handicap some games, but the first NBA game on TNT Thursday is one where things are settled. The Dallas Mavericks have made their moves and head to Boston to face the Celtics, who are not in a position to make a big deal themselves.

The Mavericks are at the beginning of new direction while the Celtics are looking to get back to the great basketball they played last season. Say what you will about the Luka Dončić trade, but Dallas clearly has a vision of a defensive team led by long athletes that can shut down their opponents. Boston does pride themselves on playing good defense, but their focus is more on the offensive end and plying their edge there.

It should be an interesting matchup of styles and also a chance for us to make a little money. Here’s what I expect from the game and the bets I’ve already made.

NBA Game of the Day: Dallas Mavericks at Boston Celtics

Current Line – Celtics -11, 230
My Projection – Celtics 123, Mavericks 108
Key InjuriesDereck Lively II and P.J. Washington Jr. are out. Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday are questionable.
