Zach Agnos Tallies Save No. 3

Colorado Rockies right-handed pitching prospect Zach Agnos earned his third save of his major league career during their 3-2 victory over the New York Yankees on Friday evening. Agnos allowed one walk, but did not allow a hit or a run. He did not tally a strikeout. Since earning the promotion to the majors, Agnos has been viewed as the top ninth-inning option in Colorado. Through his first 14 innings of work in the big leagues, Agnos has tallied three saves, two holds, and held a 1.29 ERA with a 0.93 WHIP. Under the hood, the 24-year-old has generated a 3.26 xERA and a .267 xBA, which suggests he will likely see some regression throughout the summer. He remains a target for saves in deeper 14+ team formats, but pitching on the Rockies will not provide him with many consistent save opportunities.

Zach Agnos Earns Second Save

Colorado Rockies pitching prospect Zach Agnos tallied his second career save on Thursday evening during their victory over the San Francisco Giants. Agnos pitched a clean frame. He did not allow a hit, but he also did not tally a punchout. This was his second-straight game tallying a save. Since making his MLB debut on April 20, Agnos has logged seven 1/3 innings of work without allowing a run. He has tallied just one punchout but has been trusted in high-leverage situations. Given his recent usage, fantasy managers should view the East Carolina product as the favorite for saves in Colorado for the time being. Earlier this season, in Triple-A, Agnos held a 2.25 ERA across eight innings. While he does not carry high strikeout upside, he is worth a look in deeper formats, as he could finish the season with double-digit saves.

Zach Agnos Earns First Career Save

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Zach Agnos was called upon to hold a one-run lead against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. The right-hander recently earned his promotion to the majors after pitching well in Triple-A. Agnos worked a scoreless ninth inning and retired three of the four batters he faced to earn his first career save. Early in the season, Seth Halvorsen seemed to be the favorite for saves, but possibly Agnos will get a chance now. Honestly, it doesn't really matter who pitches in the ninth with how bad this team has been playing early in the year. The Rockies have five wins so far, which means none of their relievers should be considered viable options for saves.
