Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon will retreat to the bench for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies at Coors Field with left-hander Jesus Luzardo on the bump. Aaron Schunk will take over at third and will hit ninth in the batting order. McMahon is hitless in six career at-bats against Luzardo and has gone 8-for-50 (.160) with one of his six homers and 20 strikeouts against southpaws in 2025. The lefty hitter has been hot in May, going 17-for-57 (.298) with four homers, three doubles, a triple, seven RBI, one steal and 13 runs scored in 17 games played. He should be back in action on Wednesday. Schunk won't be very attractive as a sleeper in DFS at the bottom of the order against a strong pitcher, even at hitter-friendly Coors Field. He's hit 5-for-20 in 2025 with no homers and a run scored as a bench player.

Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon had a massive day at the dish on Wednesday, going 4-for-4 with a homer, two doubles, and a walk. McMahon crushed a two-run shot in the first inning and also came around to score in the third. The 30-year-old veteran was off to an extremely slow start this year, but appears to be coming around in May, where he is 8-for-17 with two homers and five RBI. Even with that, he is still hitting just .193 with 13 runs scored, four homers, nine RBI, and a stolen base this season. McMahon is only a deep league option at this point, although he has some utility as a streamer when the Rockies play all home games in a given week.

Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon swatted his third home run of the season in the seventh inning against future Hall-of-Famer Justin Verlander. The home run was a solo shot, bringing the Rockies within one run of the San Francisco Giants. The Rockies then scored two more runs in the eighth inning off of Tyler Rogers to walk away with the 4-3 victory. It's been a struggle for McMahon in 2025, as he's slashing an ugly .152/.280/.267 with three home runs, nine runs scored, and five RBI to go with one stolen base. McMahon is a career .240 hitter, so fantasy managers who have held on this long should see some progression as we get closer to summer in Coors Field. Thursday's game against the Giants was the first of a four-game series, so they have three games left on the road before they start a six-game homestand on Tuesday.
