Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadowshad a memorable Thursday night, belting a two-out grand slam to send the Tigers to a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres. Meadows ended the game 2-for-4 with a run and four RBI. After his team was stifled by the Padres pitching all night, Meadows finally got to closer Robert Suarez on the final out of the game. Since his return from injury on Aug. 3, Meadows has been a solid contributor in all five categories. He is a decent deep-league option for the fantasy playoffs and could be a sleeper for next season.
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory versus the Seattle Mariners. Meadows was activated from the 10-day injured list on August 3 after missing nearly a month with a right hamstring strain and has gone 4-for-9 since. The young outfielder was off to a terrible start this season, but worked out some kinks in Triple-A Toledo and was starting to show signs of life before landing on the injured list. His strong return is a tiny sample size, but in deeper leagues, he could be worth the gamble late in the season with the waiver wire not offering many options with his upside. If everything were to click for Meadows, he could provide managers with some good pop and speed in the outfield. Meadows will look for multiple hits in his third straight game when the Tigers square off against George Kirby and the Seattle Mariners in a tough matchup.
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows was activated from the IL after recovering from his hamstring issue. Meadows missed a month of games. He will bat seventh and play center field today against the Kansas City Royals. On the season, Meadows is hitting .131 with three home runs, five RBI, four stolen bases, and 11 runs scored in only 97 plate appearances. Meadows will look to improve his first-half line this month and should have an extended opportunity to play daily in Detroit.
