Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte will get the starting nod again on Monday evening when they begin a series against the Miami Marlins. Marte enjoyed a career game on Sunday and is being rewarded with another start at the hot corner. He is slated to bat in the eight-hole. On Sunday, Marte went 5-for-7 with two doubles and a grand slam. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Marte's status as he could be earning the majority of starts at the hot corner over Jeimer Candelario. Last summer, Marte had a disappointing season as he held a .210/.248/.301 slash line with just four home runs and nine stolen bases. This was a sharp decline compared to the .316/.366/.456 line he held across his first 33-game taste of the majors in 2023. Marte is worth considering in DFS given his recent play facing Miami right-hander Max Meyer.

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte had an explosive day at the plate, going 5-for-7 with a home run, two doubles, seven RBI, and three runs. The entire offense was firing on all cylinders in the 24-2 win over the Orioles, and this was an encouraging sign for the former top prospect. It's important to note that his grand slam and one of his doubles came off Jorge Mateo and Gary Sanchez, so don't take this as a sure sign of a breakout. Still, Marte is expected to get more playing time with Christian Encarnacion-Strand landing on the injured list, and there's still time for the youngster to figure things out at the major league level.

The Cincinnati Reds announced on Thursday that they recalled infielder Noelvi Marte from Triple-A Louisville and placed infielder Christian Encarnacion-Strand (back) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move with lower-back inflammation. It didn't take long for Marte to rejoin the big-league roster after he was just optioned to Louisville on Tuesday. The 23-year-old Dominican only saw action in three games before being optioned and went 1-for-6 with a steal and a walk. Jeimer Candelario started at first base on Thursday against the Seattle Mariners, with Santiago Espinal manning third base. Even though Encarnacion-Strand is on the shelf, Marte's opportunities could be limited with the Reds with Spencer Steer (shoulder) getting close to playing first base, which would shift Candelario back to third. At best, Marte is a stash candidate in NL-only leagues for the time being.
