Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitching prospect Landon Knack will make another start on Wednesday versus the Washington Nationals on the road. Knack, 26, made his major-league debut last week against these very same Nats in a start and allowed two earned runs on four hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out four in five innings in a loss. Knack won't be the worst sleeper streamer against a weak Nationals lineup for Wednesday's slate, but there's also a fair amount of risk for a pitcher making his second MLB start on the road. Knack is listed as LA's No. 13 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and is most likely to head back to the minor leagues to fine-tune his arsenal when Walker Buehler (elbow) is finally able to make his season debut after missing all of 2023 due to Tommy John surgery.
Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect Landon Knack will make his big-league debut on Wednesday versus the Washington Nationals. The 26-year-old is one of the Dodgers top pitching prospects and has made four starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City this season. In those starts, he has produced a 4.02 ERA with 16 strikeouts and four walks. Knack is intriguing, especially with a matchup versus a Washington Nationals lineup that isn't scary, but it is probably best that managers take a wait-and-see approach with Knack before running him out there. It is also possible that Knack could go back down to the farm with Walker Buehler (elbow) expected to return next week.
The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya is hearing that the Los Angeles Dodgers are planning on calling up pitching prospect Landon Knack to pitch this week, according to sources. Knack would be making his major-league debut if he gets into a game. Ardaya also thinks Kyle Hurt would be a possibility as the Dodgers look for length from their pitching staff this week. According to MLB Pipeline, Knack is the club's No. 13 prospect, while Hurt is their No. 6 prospect. The 26-year-old Knack could make the start on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals, as the Dodgers have yet to name a starter for that game. In three starts at Triple-A Oklahoma City so far this year, Knack has posted a 4.02 ERA with four walks and 16 K's in 15 2/3 innings. He'll be a poor choice as a streamer if he makes a spot start for LA this week.
