Landen Roupp Shuts Down Nationals in Victory

San Francisco Giants right-hander Landen Roupp (3-3) stymied the Washington Nationals in a 4-0 win on Friday. Roupp tossed six innings of five-hit ball with two strikeouts and two walks to rack up his third quality start of the season. He picked up his third win of the season. The 26-year-old has taken the hill 10 times this season and has allowed three or fewer earned runs on eight occasions. He now owns a solid 3.63 ERA with 49 strikeouts against 18 walks over 52 innings. Roupp's next scheduled start will come on the road Wednesday against Detroit, whose offense has been among the majors' best this year.

Landen Roupp Earns Second Win Of The Season

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Landen Roupp had another strong start on Saturday night, holding the Angels to just two runs on five hits over seven innings. He had nine strikeouts and limited the damage to just a pair of solo home runs by Mike Trout. This was Roupp's longest outing of the year and his second straight victory. He has compiled a 4.09 ERA and 3.25 FIP across 22 innings with an impressive 11.9 K/9. The 26-year-old has made a successful transition from the bullpen to the rotation so far this season, and he is a good streaming and NL-only option against the Brewers for his next start on Thursday. If he keeps posting outings like this one, he'll soon be mixed-league material as well.

Landen Roupp Wins Fifth Starter Spot

San Francisco Giants pitcher Landen Roupp has earned the fifth spot in the starting rotation to begin the season. It was down to Roupp or Hayden Birdsong, but manager Bob Melvin confirmed on Monday that Roupp will get the final spot in the rotation. Roupp has been extremely impressive this season and is well deserving of this chance. Last season, Roupp posted a 3.58 ERA, 1,37 WHIP, and 47/26 K/BB ratio across 23 games (four starts) with the Giants. He's someone that should have fantasy value right away in most formats, assuming he's able to adjust to being a full-time starter. Birdsong will see his fantasy value take a hit with the shift to the bullpen.
