Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler (hamstring) will be kept out of the lineup on Sunday afternoon for the fourth straight game. Soler was diagnosed with a mild hamstring strain on Thursday but remains day-to-day. As a result, veteran Ramon Laureano will cover right field again. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 32-year-old's status prior to their three-game set against the Philadelphia Phillies, which kicks off on Tuesday evening. The slugger has once again enjoyed a nice power season, hitting 16 long balls so far with a .244/.339/.438 line. He returned to Atlanta at the deadline, where he won World Series MVP in 2021. When he returns to the lineup, he and Michael Harris II should share leadoff duties. Laureano could be a value play in DFS this afternoon as he will bat in the five-hole against Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz, who holds a 7.98 ERA.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The veteran slugger suffered a left hamstring strain during Wednesday's contest. He hasn't played since then, but the Braves don't believe Soler will require a trip to the injured list. For now, fantasy managers should consider the 32-year-old as day-to-day. In his absence, Marcell Ozuna will bat third and serve as the designated hitter against right-hander Jose Soriano. It also means Ramon Laureano will probably see more action in right field, but he doesn't offer much upside with the bat. Fantasy managers who have Soler rostered are likely going to have to wait a few more days. Hopefully Soler can return by early next week at the latest. Fantasy managers will need to stay tuned for more updates on his status.
Atlanta Braves designated hitter Jorge Soler (hamstring) has a mild left hamstring strain. He is considered day-to-day, and he'll stay with the team on their current road trip. It's good news for Soler, who thinks there's a chance he could play for the Braves during this weekend's series against the Los Angeles Angels but will sit Friday's series opener in Anaheim. Manager Brian Snitker may take a cautious approach and sit the 32-year-old veteran slugger until the start of next week's series against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies. Soler exited Wednesday night's game against the San Francisco Giants as a precaution after his hamstring tightened while he was attempting to beat out a grounder in the fourth inning. Michael Harris II should reclaim his spot atop Atlanta's lineup in games Soler ends up missing.
Atlanta Braves outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (hamstring) was removed as a precaution from Wednesday night's game against the hosting San Francisco Giants due to left-hamstring tightness. Soler tweaked his hamstring running to first base in the fourth inning and was removed, but hopefully he'll be able to return no later than Friday's series opener in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. Fantasy managers should probably expect the Braves to hold Soler out of action for Thursday's series finale in a matinee contest against the Giants. Before hitting the showers early, Soler went hitless in two at-bats with a run scored and was replaced in left field by Jarred Kelenic. The Cuban slugger was a disappointment with the Giants in the first half of the year but has been better in his return to Atlanta, as he came into Wednesday's contest batting .279 (12-for-43) with four homers and 11 RBI in his first 12 games for the Braves.UPDATE: Soler won't play on Thursday. However, manager Brian Snitker didn't sound too concerned.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler brought the power with him for the weekend series against the Colorado Rockies. On Sunday, Soler went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in the loss. This is now four homers for Soler over the last three days. However, we'll see how he does once the Braves leave Coors Field. The veteran outfielder has done a fairly solid job at the plate since being traded to Atlanta at the deadline. We'll see if he can keep the power bat going down the stretch of the season.
