The Atlanta Braves outrighted infielder Brian Anderson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. Anderson was activated from the 10-day injured list last Wednesday but now is off the 40-man roster after playing in just one game for the Braves last week. The 31-year-old veteran third baseman has appeared in just three games for Atlanta in 2024 and is hitless in five at-bats with two strikeouts. He'll report to Gwinnett for the second half of the season and will hope to rejoin the Braves' big-league roster at some point as infield depth. In his eight years in the big leagues (six with the Miami Marlins) since debuting in 2017, Anderson has a .251/.336/.403 slash line with 66 homers, 273 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 630 games played. Anderson isn't anywhere on the fantasy radar this year.

The Seattle Mariners released third baseman Brian Anderson on Tuesday. The 30-year-old signed a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training this off-season in hopes that he could win a platoon/backup role. While he did slash .250/.344/.536 in 28 Cactus League at-bats, it wasn't enough to earn a spot. Injuries have hindered Anderson's career, and he hasn't hit above .250 since 2020. At this point, he may try to find another team to join where he could have a clearer path to a role.

The Seattle Mariners signed free-agent infielder Brian Anderson and right-hander Trevor Kelley to minor-league deals on Friday, according to sources. Both players will receive invites to major-league spring training. The 30-year-old Anderson really struggled in 96 games for the Milwaukee Brewers last year, slashing .226/.310/.368 with nine home runs, 40 RBI and 38 runs scored in 361 trips to the plate before being released after the season. If he makes Seattle's roster, he'll probably serve in a backup or platoon role at third base, at best, with Luis Urias. Kelley, 31, will be looking to serve as relief depth for the Mariners, but he's unlikely to make the big-league roster out of camp. Kelley has a career 6.75 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 45 strikeouts in 50 2/3 innings in four major-league seasons.
