San Francisco Giants designated hitter Jorge Soler went 2-for-6 with a home run in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks. The home run was the slugger's seventh of the season, but surely the Giants were hoping for more after coming off a 2023 season in which he belted 36 home runs with a 15.0% Barrel%. This season the 32-year-old has a 7.7% Barrel%, his lowest number since 2017. Hopefully he's just heating up, though, as the former All-Star is 7-for-20 (.350) with just one strikeout over his last five games.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Jorge Soler and shortstop Macro Luciano are not in Saturday's lineup. Soler has started in every game since returning from the injured list with an injured shoulder and has performed well with a .267/.333/.467 line highlighted by a solo shot on Friday evening. Luciano has started at shortstop over the past seven games and posted a stellar .429/.500/.619 line. As a result, Patrick Bailey will serve as the designated hitter and bat third on Saturday afternoon, and Brett Wisely will serve as the shortstop and bat in the nine-hole. Bailey is worth a look in DFS as he enters Saturday with a strong .301/.352/.495 line with four long balls and two stolen bases. He will face Luis Severino, who enters Saturday with a 3.48 ERA and 1.22 WHIP.

It's worth noting that Soler was penciled into the leadoff spot in both games since coming off the IL, and has gone 4-for-9 (.444) with a walk in those two contests. Shaking things up might just be what Soler needs, as it has been an underwhelming season so far, slashing .219/.308/.383 with five home runs, 10 RBI, and 16 runs scored over 146 plate appearances. He'll get a chance to make it a three-game hit streak on Sunday as the Giants face Dakota Hudson, who has an ugly 6.13 ERA on the season and Soler is 3-for-9 with a double and four walks against in his career.

The slugging outfielder is back in the lineup after missing time due to a lingering shoulder issue. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat leadoff against right-hander Ryan Feltner on Friday. Soler has been off to a slow start this season but hopefully some time off helped him get back on track. Fantasy managers who have Soler rostered should make sure to get him back in their lineups on Friday.

San Francisco Giants designated hitter Jorge Soler (shoulder) began a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday. Soler is slated to play in two games in the minors and will likely be back with the Giants on Friday for the series opener against the division-rival Colorado Rockies if everything goes well there. Before hitting the injured list with a strained right shoulder, the 32-year-old slugger slashed a disappointing .202/.294/.361 with five homers, four doubles, and eight RBI through 119 at-bats (34 games) as San Fran's everyday DH. Despite those shortcomings, Soler would have a great opportunity to jump-start his season while facing off with a Rockies team that entered Wednesday's action ranked last in team ERA (5.16) and WHIP (1.53) in 2024.
