Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that catcher Jake Rogers (oblique) will come off the 10-day injured list to catch left-hander Tarik Skubal in Tuesday's contest against the St. Louis Cardinals. Rogers will come off the IL after playing in four minor-league rehab games with Triple-A Toledo, where he went 5-for-15 with three doubles, five runs scored, three walks and three strikeouts. Now that the 30-year-old backstop is back in Detroit, Dillon Dingler will see fewer playing time behind the dish. Rogers hit a career-high 21 home runs in 107 games for Detroit in 2023 but fell to 10 homers and 36 RBI in 102 games last year. In just six games played before his injury in 2025, Rogers went 4-for-18 with no homers, a triple and three runs scored in 22 plate appearances. While splitting time with Dingler, he'll only be valuable in two-catcher fantasy leagues.

Detroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers (oblique) is playing catch, hitting batting practice in the cage and completing defensive drills on a daily basis, according to MLive's Evan Woodbery. Rogers began playing catch in late April and has now increased his baseball activities as he rehabs from a strained left oblique. Barring any setbacks once he starts a minor-league rehab assignment, the 30-year-old veteran backstop is expected to rejoin the big-league squad in late May. In just six games this year before his injury, Rogers had gone 4-for-18 with a triple, three runs scored, four walks and five strikeouts for the Tigers. Rogers had a career-high 21 homers and 49 RBI in 107 games in 2023 but finished with just 10 long balls last year. Like most catchers, he struggles to make contact and isn't going to hit for average, but he should play regularly while splitting time with Dillon Dingler when he returns.

Detroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers (oblique) was seen playing catch on Monday. Rogers was placed on the 15-day injured list on April 8 with a left oblique strain. Following that transaction, the team noted that the backstop would be sidelined for at least a month. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he slowly increases his workload. Through the early part of the campaign, Rogers has posted a .222/.364/.333 slash line with one triple across six contests. During this brief taste, Rogers has generated a strong 15.4 percent barrel rate and has shown an elite eye at the plate, drawing walks at an 18.2 percent walk rate. While Rogers remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Dillon Dingler to operate as the lead backstop and Thomas Nido to serve as the No. 2.
