Houston Astros right-hander Hunter Brown held the Cleveland Guardians to one run over 5 1/3 innings in a 5-3 victory on Saturday. Brown did not factor into the decision after the Astros blew a lead in the seventh inning, but it was nonetheless another effective start for the 26-year-old. While Brown did walk five hitters, tying his career-worst mark, he also struck out nine and yielded just four hits. Brown lowered his ERA to a stunning 1.82 on Saturday and has also amassed 93 strikeouts against 25 walks in 79 innings. He'll toe the rubber against the Minnesota Twins next Saturday. Brown threw six innings of two-run ball against the Twins in a 5-2 win on April 3.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown was tough to hit during Sunday's outing against the Tampa Bay Rays. Brown has been excellent lately giving up one earned run or fewer in three of his last four starts heading into Sunday's outing. The right-hander continued his excellent pitching with six shutout innings on Sunday. He allowed one hit, walked four batters, and struck out five in the win. Brown has been unbelievable this season and will take a 1.83 ERA into his next start versus the Cleveland Guardians.

Houston Astros right-hander Hunter Brown turned in a quality start in his team's 11-1 win over the Athletics on Tuesday. Brown tossed six innings of one-run ball while striking out eight and walking none. He gave up six hits, with his only mistake coming in the form of a solo homer to Lawrence Butler in the fourth inning. Brown appears to be taking another step forward after a breakout season in 2024 as he now has a 7-3 record, 2.00 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts over 67 2/3 innings of work. He will look to keep it going in his next start, which will be against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Houston Astros right-hander Hunter Brown has had a fantastic 2025 season, but it just wasn't his day in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Brown wasn't missed many bats and ended up allowing five earned runs on seven hits (three homers) while walking two and striking out four in five innings of work for his third loss of the year. It was the first time all year that the 26-year-old allowed more than three runs in a start, and the poor showing only raised his season ERA to 2.04. Brown also allowed more home runs on Wednesday than he had in any of his previous nine starts this year. Curtis Mead, Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe were the ones to take him deep on Wednesday, with the two Lowes going for back-to-back jobs in the fifth frame. Fantasy managers shouldn't get too discouraged and should leave Brown in their starting lineups for a solid matchup next week against the Athletics.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown was dealt a tough-luck loss on Thursday against the Texas Rangers, tossing eight one-run innings in a 1-0 defeat. Brown actually threw a complete game in this one, albeit only eight innings. He allowed just three hits, didn't walk a batter, and struck out nine. The only damage came on a Jake Burger solo shot in the sixth, in what was the only offense of the day for either team. Although the result is unfortunate, Brown continues to show that his breakout is for real. The 26-year-old now has a 6-2 record with a 1.43 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts over 56 IP. He also has quality starts in eight of his nine starts this year and has been a model of consistency. Brown should be considered a premier pitcher in fantasy, and his owners have to be feeling good after drafting him outside of the top 100 picks. His next start is scheduled for next Wednesday in Tampa Bay against the Rays.
