Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Emilio Pagan bounced back from Tuesday's blown save with a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday night against the Braves. He allowed a single to Michael Harris II but struck out Eddie Rosario to end the game to preserve a one-run victory. That strikeout was one of Pagan's two punchouts in the ninth inning. He is up to 20 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings and is 0-1 with a 2.60 ERA, 3.73 FIP, and 0.63 WHIP. He has converted nine of his 11 save opportunities and also picked up a hold. He remains the main option in the back end of the Reds' bullpen and should be a good source of saves, especially if the Reds' offense can get back on track.

Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Emilio Pagan was called upon to protect a two-run lead against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. The right-hander didn't need to do much work as he notched in eighth save of the season on seven pitches. Pagan has a 2.51 ERA, 0.49 WHIP, and 14/2 K/BB ratio with eight saves in nine attempts this season. He deserves to be rostered in all fantasy formats where saves matter. Alexis Diaz figures to be in the mix for saves, but pitched the eighth inning on Monday. It looks like the Reds are going to keep riding with Pagan until he gives them a reason otherwise.

Cincinnati Reds closer Emilio Pagan picked up his seventh save of the season on Saturday, securing the 6-4 victory over the Rockies. The righty struck out the first two batters he faced before allowing a walk and a double that would result in one run scored, but would get the final batter to strike out as well to end the game. The 33-year-old has filled in admirably as the Reds' closer this season, with Saturday being just the third time in 14 games that he's allowed a run to score, producing a 2.70 ERA, 0.53 WHIP, and a 2:14 BB:K (25.5 percent K-BB%). Alexis Diaz pitched the eighth inning, so Pagan should be the closer so long as he remains effective.
