Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize (hamstring) has been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 9. The right-hander was fantastic against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. He gave up one earned run across six innings of work. However, Mize reportedly injured his hamstring during the late stages of that outing. As a result, Mize will be sidelined for a few weeks, which is a shame considering how well he has been pitching this season. The Tigers have reportedly named Keider Montero as Tuesday's starter. If he pitches well, Montero could see more starts in the rotation while Mize is out. Fantasy managers shouldn't jump to the waiver wire to add Montero unless you're desperate for pitching in deeper leagues. He'll face the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize picked up his fourth straight victory in Thursday's 10-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. The former first-overall pick logged six innings, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out eight to improve to 6-1 on the year (four straight wins). Mize fired 63 of 86 pitches for strikes, picking up 16 swings-and-misses en route to a strong 38% CSW. He's let up one or fewer runs in five of seven starts in 2025 -- and four runs in the other two. Additionally, the Auburn product has been good about issuing free passes of late, with Thursday marking the third time in five appearances that he had not. He'll square off against the Boston Red Sox early next week, sporting a stellar 2.53 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 42 2/3 innings (35:9 K:BB ratio).

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize was sharp on the mound during Monday's game against the New York Yankees. The right-hander posted six innings, one earned run, while striking out six batters in the win. It wasn't a perfect day for Mize who did allow three walks and four hits, but he was able to limit the damage during this game. Mize has allowed one earned run across 11 2/3 innings heading into his next start against the Minnesota Twins. He has done enough over his first two starts to warrant rostering in most 12-team formats heading into his next start this weekend.
