Bryse Wilson Getting Booted To Bullpen

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Bryse Wilson appears to be the odd man out in Milwaukee's starting rotation after the club acquired right-hander Aaron Civale from the Tampa Bay Rays this week. Civale will make his team debut on Friday against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, while Wilson will be relegated to the bullpen for the time being, according to manager Pat Murphy. The 26-year-old hurler currently has a 4.27 ERA and 1.28 WHIP on the year in 20 appearances (nine starts) while striking out only 62 hitters in 78 innings of work. Wilson has allowed a lot of hard contact this year but has been slightly better out of the bullpen, so that's where he'll head for the time being. He was already a pretty weak streaming option in deep-mixed leagues before the change, so now he belongs on the waiver wire in all mixed fantasy formats.

Bryse Wilson Tagged For Five Runs In Relief Role

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Bryse Wilson was tagged by the Colorado Rockies in Monday's 8-7 loss, allowing five runs (all earned) and seven hits over four innings. Wilson replaced opener Rob Zastryzny in the second inning and immediately allowed homers to Charlie Blackmon and Brenton Doyle while striking out three and walking two. He is now 5-3 with a 4.27 ERA and 1.28 WHIP, striking out 62 and walking 28 over 78 innings. Wilson's penchant for allowing dingers has been an issue, as he's allowed 14 homers. Monday's outing marked the fourth time in six outings that Wilson has yielded at least three earned runs, so now is a good time for fantasy managers to bail on him.

Rob Zastryzny To Open For Brewers On Monday, Bryse Wilson To Follow Out Of Bullpen

The Milwaukee Brewers will have pitcher Rob Zastryzny start Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies instead of Bryse Wilson. Milwaukee has done this quite a bit with Wilson recently, as the right-hander has started just once over his last four appearances. However, he is expected to pitch the bulk of innings, while Zastryzny will only pitch one to two frames. In his last appearance on June 25, Wilson came on in relief and threw six scoreless innings with four strikeouts against the Texas Rangers. Fantasy managers, though, should have lower expectations for him on Monday, considering he'll pitch at one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks at Coors Field.
