Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle had a big night in his team's 6-5 win over the Atlanta Braves on Friday. Doyle went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, two runs, and two RBI in the winning effort. The homer was an especially important one for Doyle as it gave him the first 20-homer, 20-steal season of his career. It has been a breakout season for Doyle, who is hitting .263 with 19 doubles, 20 homers, 64 runs, 58 RBI, and 21 stolen bases across 410 at-bats. Doyle's blend of power and speed has made him a solid addition to fantasy lineups in all leagues this season.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle smacked a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the eighth inning Wednesday to lead the Rockies to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The home run was Doyle's only hit of the night out of four plate appearances. Doyle took a Hans Crouse hanging breaking ball 431 feet into the bullpen for his 18th long ball on the season. After a lackluster rookie season for the 26-year-old, Doyle is breaking out nicely this year with eight more home runs in about the same amount of at-bats as the 2023 season. His .272 batting average is considerably higher than his .203 average in 2023. He's also right where he was at last year, with 22 stolen bases on the year. Playing in Colorado, Doyle has the potential to finish with a 30-30 campaign with a more than respectable batting average.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) is starting in center field and is batting third for the Rockies in Wednesday's contest against the hosting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Davis Daniel. A bruised right index finger kept Doyle out of the lineup for the series opener in Anaheim, but the 26-year-old is back in the lineup for the second game of the series and needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups, especially in a solid matchup. Despite not starting on Tuesday, he entered as a pinch-hitter and played two innings in the 10-7 loss. In his second big-league season, Doyle is producing across the board for his fantasy managers with a .273/.335/.473 slash line, .808 OPS, 17 homers, 53 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 103 games. He's gone hitless in his last three games, though, and is hitting .244 (10-for-41) with two homers, two doubles, 11 RBI and 12 K's in 11 games since the All-Star break.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) left Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants early with a finger contusion. Doyle was frustrated after striking out in the first inning and threw a towel against a training kit, but Doyle struck the training kit as well and hurt his finger. It's a bizarre injury, but seemingly not a serious one as Doyle was deemed day-to-day. Fantasy managers will hope that the breakout stud can get back into the lineup for Tuesday's game, but they will have to check the latest news and update their lineups accordingly.
Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle contributed to the 20-run bonanza in Wednesday afternoon's win over the visiting Boston Red Sox, driving in five runs courtesy of a grand slam and an RBI single. After ripping an RBI single off Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta into left field to bring the Rockies' lead to 5-1 in the second inning, Doyle sent a long fly ball into the left-field bleachers for a grand slam in the sixth frame. It continues an absurd month of July for the speedy 26-year-old outfielder, who has clubbed 10 home runs in his last 71 at-bats. During this hot streak, Doyle is slashing a stratospheric .380/.450/.887 with six doubles, 24 RBI, and one stolen base across his last 19 outings.
